Emily's About-Time Training Log

You were fine, lol. I probably heard about infection risk from bites 10 times this week. And that’s AFTER hearing about it from the ED doc. I mean, “necrotic flesh” okay yeah, maybe a little bad. :grimacing:

Which reminds me, I have to pick up another round of antibiotics this morning.

:man_shrugging:t2: I was worried. When I worry, I share absolutely worst case scenarios.

But its because I care..

Like when I had a widowmaker and for months all of my friends told me about the guy they knew that died.

I’m relieved that you’re recovering well, and this is going to just be a hiccup on the road to T-Ransformation victory.

I know. And thank you!

2/21 I missed yesterday’s run because I was arguing pointlessly in OT. I need to stop doing that.

I’m back up some portion of a pound today and yesterday, which is discouraging, but it seems that’s how my body works. Shows a loss, then plays peek-a-boo with it for a couple of days. Trying not to let my mood attach itself to the scale. I’ve been wearing corduroys that have been off the table since 2020, a big loss because I loved them and so had three pairs. They’re also warm, and right now for instance it’s 13 degrees out. I’m aware that they’re not really in style now, but I live in a place that’s very forgiving of sins of this nature, particularly in winter.

So now I’ll get dressed and go do yesterday’s run.

I dropped my last bite of egg on the floor this morning, and it was a BIG bite. I am in the depths of despair although the dog seems comfortable with my tragedy.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Thank you for understanding, lol.

Does the three-second rule not apply in your house?

I like my scrambled eggs pretty moist. And it fell right under the footrest on the counter stool I was sitting on, so my New England winter shoes are scraping around right above. So…no. To the dog.

If you cook it hot enough, that’s still safe to eat.

I just sucked it off the side. Waste not want not.

2/24 Weight dropped this morning! Yay! Down 7.4 now, and feeling strong.

Had to get up for chicken at 3am again, even after going 200 calories over for the day, but I spent 3 hours hiking 3 miles yesterday afternoon in 35°f, plus lifting in the morning. Also, the hike included two Official Breaks, which each featured a White Claw for me (beer for the husband, treats for the dog), which means that some of my calories for the day were junk.

Not sure what, if anything, I want to do about that (junk calories from alcohol). It sure was enjoyable setting off for an an afternoon of hiking and cocktails, as well as coming home to cook dinner with rosy cheeks and a small buzz. Just very, very pleasant. Delightful, really.

Temps are back in the teens today, so will probably go out but not for as long. On the other hand, it’s sunny, which is a rare treat, so we’ll see.

Key West adventure starts at 3 on Wednesday, when friends arrive for the 3 hour drive to Boston, where we’ll stay in preparation for a 5am flight on Thursday. I’m going to try not to eat like an asshole, but we’ll see about that, too. I’m planning for KW to be all seafood, but there will be drinks there, too. Our friends are like tornados of trouble (bite dog’s owners) and totally bring out our own innate badness. I’m super excited, haha.

Weight back up again this morning, but I shall not despair.

I’m getting ready to go run some sprints on the TM, then I’m sure another hike this afternoon if the doggo can handle it. It’s sunny again. That’s two days in a row! Although yesterday was a windy 15°, so it wasn’t a three-hour, two-drink, lounge-around-in-the-woods day. Maybe today will be!

It’s going to be 90° degrees here today.
Yard work has already started for me… in FEBRUARY!! And let’s not forget the bugs. Saw a red wasp yesterday, spring is near.

15° doesn’t sound bad to me

My daughter’s birthday is March 18th, and when we lived in Texas it was our last frost date (DFW), so high spring.

At work everyone is like “OMG, WILL SPRING EVER BE HERE??” And I feel the opposite way, though I do like the summer. We’re the polar opposite of Texas here; instead of a six month summer we get a six month winter. Sometimes seven. I got married outside on June 3rd, and it was 52°, which we were very pleased with because it could have been worse. The bugs are brutal here, much worse than TX, though we don’t have fire ants, happily. But we do have biting flies, which are impervious to DEET.

The 15°…going uphill the wind was to our backs, which I don’t think we realized. I was just thinking “oh, this isn’t bad at ALL!” When the dog started fussing with her feet and we had to turn around I was sad. It was lucky we did turn around, though. It was sunny going back down, but my face was definitely taking a hit. I couldn’t really move my lips to talk, which I’m sure was a bummer for the husband. Definitely some wind burn. We were out for just under an hour.

I don’t know why, but we’re really loving the outside this winter. I mean, we always do, but we all seem to be in extra great shape for it this year. Buttons just keeps being remarkable. I mean, we’re slow - I’m the dog of the family, I have to keep stopping to let them catch up - but she LOVES being out there.

It’s just super happy.

Weight fluctuates a lot throughout the course of the day, including day to day. Its bad enough for guys, worse for girls (hormones).

So my coach has me check 3 things for progress.

  1. Weight
  2. Mirror (2 week picture snapshots for comparison)
  3. Measurements (i only do waist because its about all the fat i have left)

If any of the three are moving in the right direction, particularly mirror progress, then the plan is working.

I would suggest something similar.

Yeah, I think the pants-that-fit are keeping my head straight while I play peekaboo with the scale. Nice that it’s winter for that reason. My clothes are more buckled and strapped and layered and fitted when it’s 2° out. Summer clothes - at least as I wear them - aren’t as molded to my body. They wouldn’t give the kind of information skinny-fit corduroys do.

I didn’t do measurements this time because I didn’t know I’d be this dedicated, haha.

And I have just done a pic, and will continue with that.

If I may share an observation- thats like the 3rd pic or so that shows way more than the leg (remember that?).

I have a prosthetic now, lol. I keep it on the other side.

I should bring that skirt to key west, coming to think of it.

My living room currently, which makes even me feel sorry for my husband (watch where you walk at night, bud!):
