I would like to hear from anyone who has experimented with both of these programs. Any opinions about pro’s and cons of each would be very intersting.
Personally, I have used GVT occ.the last few years, with much success.
I like the science behind EDT and am now giving it a try. i am finishing off week two tommarro.
So far, I have found that EDT does not produce the immediate “about to explode” pump that GVT does. DOMS is not nearly as bad either. Also, the almost immediate visible increases in hypertrophy noticed by myself (and others) from GVT has not happened with EDT, and does anyone else find it very difficult to keep track of number of reps and time when doing a hard workout?
On the other hand, i am pleased that there is more variety in EDT as opposed to GVT where it is sometimes difficult to get motivated to plod into the gym and face 100 painful reps of the same exercise. Also, the TREMENDOUS training adaptations i see as i said before almost immediatley following the initiation of a GVT program, seem to disappear withen 3 microcycles(weeks per say). I do not know as of yet if this will also be a problem with EDT. The loads are a little heavier with EDT, so i do not look like a total loser when doing this program(incline barbell press GVT=155lb, EDT=225lbs).
Anyone else want to chime in?
