EDT Success Stories?

Too bad it can’t be a contest where we try EDT for 8 weeks or something, keep track of progress, and the best story wins.

I want to participate, because I love free stuff, but I’ve never tried EDT :frowning:

Okay – here is my EDT success story (based on my look into the future).

On May 21,2006, I am a 49 year old, six foot fat man. I weigh 255 and am not even sure I have abs. I get winded walking up steps. Today I start my EDT workouts. They will hurt like hell and at times I will get discouraged. However, I will press on. My workouts will include EDT-style lifting and some walking and interval work. I am tired of being fat. I need to set a better example for my seven-year old son who tells me I have too big a belly and need to exercise. I talk the talk to him but have not walked the walk. I bought weights for my basement and have no excuses to make. Muscle Logic will be my guide to success.

Here is the future. As of January 1, 2007, I am a lean 185 lb man who looks younger than 49. I feel better than ever and look like I did 20 years ago. I attribute my success to proper diet and EDT-style workouts. I am not in any magazine for my transformation but my family and friends see the results. EDT gives me a great workout without spending hours and hours in the gym. I can see my toes without bending over for the first time in many years and am still working on the abs. I am an EDT success story.

Hold me to it. I will be back at the end of the year. I took a picture today to show my results. Today’s picture is not pretty. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. I no longer am willing to live it as an out-of-shape fat man. See you at the end of the year.

he is a she… as in Julianne… tinman915
be patient

On the 9th of May Jules says a prize will be awarded on the 15th. On the 15th Jules is to swamped to choose from the minimal responses (2 testosterone pages) and says she will let the contest go another day or so. One week later and still no prize. I ain’t expecting one either (personally).

All I am saying is, don’t say you gonna do it, if you aint gonna do it.

Dear inconsiderate freeloaders,

Read what the lady said. Be patient. I don’t even know why Staley wastes his time with you T-Nation trolls, as few to none of you buy any of his products anyway. Now stfu and calm down.

Regards,
JOG

Hey Jules,
Does this mean there’s still time to get a story in? I bought Muscle Logic about a month ago and before that I was doing the full body EDT from the article.

If the window of opportunity is still open, I’ll add my little story. The prize pack is too good to pass up.
Sorry, I got to this thread a little late.

Well kind of shoots my post all to hell and back.

Still rockin’ those EDT workouts. My favorite PR zone is squats and pull ups. Taxes the CNS like a mutha.

Being an exercise science major at ASU and soon to graduate I had PM’d Charles about a year ago about training with him(id pay of course) or at the very least allow me to sit in on some of his sessions and write an article about him for one of my classes. He replied somewhat un-enthused by the idea and told me to email his assistant who never responded to me.

Although I don’t have any assignments that would require someone who does what I want to do for a living, I would love to stop by one day and check out your facilities.

Well I emailed my address and never did get my download, did anybody else?

I never got your email with an address and I will have a mod check -julianne

BTW TINMAN- who did you email because I asked for a pm and never got one from you-J

last post to TIMAN here:
I have pm’d you and sent you 3 books. Enjoy-Julianne

Is EDT conducive for mass gain? I have been using it for a couple of months and (combined with a specific nutrition plan) have experienced a reduction in BF% by several points, increase in energy (particularly after a workout), and strength growth (for example, my first DB press on EDT was a PR of 2475 lbs; my last PR was 3265 lbs.).

However, my arms remained at 14.5", which was disappointing, and while my chest, back, legs and abs were more defined, I did not notice much change in measurement.

My conclusion is that EDT is not for mass gain. If anyone has any insights, feel free to share them. I really enjoyed the program and the intensity. It was really fun to face the PR challenge each workout. I would really like to continue with it but my goals are changeing to mass gain.

Due to job, family, and martial arts training, I only lift 2x/week and I only do 2 PR zones per session. One of the exercises I concentrate on is the deadlift. I’m not a big guy, so I was only deadlifting about 165 lbs., for a total of about 60 reps in my PR zone.

One day I had some extra time, so I decided to see what my 1RM was. I took it nice and slow, just adding a few pounds here and there, with lots of rest between low-rep sets. To my amazement, I was able to deadlift a maximum of 235 lbs. That’s probably not a lot of weight to most of the people on this board, but I’m almost 38, that’s 65 lbs. over my body weight, and I’d never lifted that amount of weight before in my life.

That proved to me what Coach Staley has been preaching, that EDT works on maximum strength.

On top of that, I’ve found that EDT is the only program that’s actually fun, because you know exactly how many reps you need in exactly how much time. So you’re always competing with yourself, but when the workout is over, it’s over (great for someone like me who doesn’t have a lot of time). And if you have a crappy workout, all you have to do next time is beat your numbers to know that you’re back on track.

I agree. That punk deserved less than nothing.

She has a business to run and chose, although not at all obligated, to be cordial.

That punk better have nice things to say about Charles and Jules now.

Well, Tinman called me on the carpet and held me to my word and I can’t fault him for that. However, I did send him those books and I know he got them but I am not sure though if he likes them or not .

ALSO- I asked him here on this thread where his PM/email was sent to etc, and he never responded as well. This week alone on another thread from one of Charles articles we gave away an EBOOK valued at $14.97 and I gave away more than $1200 worth- like I said over there, I got some really great people writing me back some very kind words of appreciation. Not that it is neccessary but valued all the same. Thanks though guys for sticking up for us-Jules

Hey Scotacus,

Sorry you’ve had a dissapointing experience with my system! EDT is indeed a superior system for improving body comp, and whether or not you experience increases in lean mass will depend a lot on genetics and dietary habits.

Just based on gut instinct, I’d suggest you try a hybrid approach, where you perform a core movement (squat, deadlift, chin, dips, bench, etc) using more traditional strength parameters (such as 10x3 of 5x5) , followed by an EDT approach for auxilillary lifts.

Hope that helps to provide some direction…

Thanks SLG, glad you’ve had a rewarding experience. I’d suggest using more traditional loading parameters for things like deads and squats however…for safety purposes. Then use EDT for secondary movements…
