EDT Questions

I recently came across Staley’s EDT training templet and, as a someone new to lifting, i plan to commit to a 4-6 week cycle. It seems to me as one of the easiect ways to gauge progress and (probably more importantly)avoid overtraining. I picked up Muscle Logic and it has answered many of the questions i had relating to the program but i also was wondering:

-Is this program appropiate for a beginner? I would imagine so because you work at YOUR pace, but i may be wrong.

-It seems primarily targeted at those looking to gain lean muscle due to the loading parameters; will working with a a higher load/lower rep still provide noticeable gains regarding one’s (in this case, a newer lifter)maximal strength?
-Has anyone who used the program chime in on some of it’s possible limitations at building strength along the full spectrum (maximal, relative, speed etc…)

-Is the program really suited for compound lifts (i read the Staley article relating to this. Just wondering what opinions other have)or is it better at bringing up lagging body parts with more isolation type movements?

-More broadly, what areas does this program really excel at and where does it fall short (regarding other programs for other goals?)
And lastly, if my goal is to stick with a program using mostly compound lifts using moderate weights to a)get into a solid routine and b)build a solid base of lean muscle for future goals am i on the right program?
Thanks all

If you are just starting out, generally, you won’t be doing a lot of low rep work… and you probably don’t need to worry too much about targeting strength vs hypertrophy and so forth straight away.

If you were further along than you implied, you could pick the program parameters (based on the various articles) that would suit your current needs or goals.

Completely agree. I was just wondering if that when I DO get further along, that the EDT style template would be suitable for those goals; It seems I really like training within a PR zone type program.
