Eddie Hall Won't Recognize Thor's Deadlift Record

Eddie’s training is, from the looks of it, incorporating more footwork, and more range-finding jabs, which are exceptionally useful when you have the shorter reach. It’s how you determine how far forward you’re going to have to go to hit with power. If you have the shorter reach, I’d argue a snappier jab is more useful, since people with longer reach can keep distance. Entering the zone where a jab is physically possible for the short person automatically puts them in the danger zone, so the ability to enter that zone, snap, and leave is paramount.

However, like you said, footwork and good distancing awareness can negate that, and I have seen marked improvement in Thor’s footwork. It’s also insane, given that Eddie’s poured so much more money into it, that Eddie isn’t getting proper fights in, so that gives Thor an edge too. Who knows - I hope it’ll be close, but I’ll take anything more than two fat dudes throwing haymakers.

Holy shit they made 7 of these? lol

EDIT: There’s doing another one of these this year!

I think Thor will win now. He got so much faster over these months.

As luck would have it i should be in Vegas when this happens so i might go…to a local watering hole and watch it.

I’m liking Thor a bit more now.

I can’t remember links aren’t allowed? Just to be safe i didn’t post it but talk sport broke down the Valilly Thor fight. Thor held his own against a pro. I’m sure Valilly was told not to go nuts but still.

Yeah, Thor has improved, but as can be expected, a couple rounds in and his feet are completely flat and he’s dropping his hands. Still - when this started, Eddie went all in and Thor seemed to be surrounded by a bunch of yes men, and now it’s switched, where Thor has 2 fights under his belt and is starting to look alright, and Eddie is doing all the stuff that looks good on social media but doesn’t always translate to a fight. It’s easy to tear apart Thor’s form, but when you haven’t been doing this for YEARS, it’s a whole different ball game to remember the long list of fundamentals when someone’s trying to punch you in the face. Experience in the ring is everything.

Funny but as a POME I love Eddie, he’s English he has attitude but he backs it up and is strong as hell. But over the past few months I am like Thor a lot more. I guess there is only so much of some people that you can take.

He is flat footed at I think Thor is the heaviest boxer in history.
There has never been a fighter like Thor. No one knows how to get him to box. The normal rules don’t really apply.

I think this ends up being a cuddling match. Each throws a haymaker on the way into a tie up.

What is is scheduled for? 6 rounds? Round 3-6 will tat. Both men gassed and tired. Think butter bean at altitude.

BUTTER BEAN!! LOL thats a blast from the past.

Wow 6 rounds seems like too many. I cant imagine if it goes that long this those rounds will be exciting to watch.

No, past round 3 its going to be watching two big men sweat as they walk slowly around the ring pretending to size each other up.

I was, without a doubt, always more of a Eddie fan than a Thor fan. I even agreed with him that Thor drug his name through the mud about the WSM in 2017 and that Thor was being a little bitch.

But damn man, He’s really lost a lot of my respect and admiration because he’s such a whiney little baby about everything and he acts like everything is such a huge, personal slight. Even if it is, shut the fuck up. Eddie is one month older than me and acts like he’s half my age.

Neither one has really done their self any favours. Its been a mud slinging contest. And even when you “win” those you just look like a toddler. Who throws mud.

And yeah I get Eddie was probably the first to do it and worst for it. But Thor posting pictures like that is juvenile. Step away. Be an adult.
Which is difficult to say when they are legitimately fighting over a work place dispute…

But given that this is just a kayfabe act, that’s not what they’re doing at all.

The greatest comedy is how long they’ve had to stretch this thin premise due to COVID interrupting the gameplan. It’s caused it to go to these silly lengths.

I’m still 50/50 on legit or kayfabe.

Back at the start of this Thor reference how this effected his relationship with his daughter. Which if this is kayfabe - thats a really low blow.

And I think Eddie has that much of a desire to be what people think he is, he’s not sure whats real and not.

So yeah on the fence. Its most likely to be a bit if both. A legitimate argument that both realised carried a massive pay cheque so milked it.
There is no love lost, but likewise I don’t think they text each other about the best way to stir up more controversy.

He is the “Larry the Cable Guy” of Strongman

I’ve never seen cable guy. So that one is lot on me.

Question. Which is worse?
Eddie and Thor have a legitimate disagreement and need to fight it out?
Its all fake and for show?

Honestly I’m not sure. Part of me thinks two men in their 30’s should be able to just ignore each other. And its more embarrassing if this is “real”.
Part of me thinks pretending to have a legitimate issue with another person just to drum up some fame and fortune. That’s pretty sad. Out side WWE that is.

He’s a character played by Daniel Lawrence Whitney that people mistakenly interpret to be the actual person rather than a bit. Another analogy could be the Tony Clifton to Andy Kaufmann.

No people that have legitimate beef with each other settle it with a publicized boxing match with a PPV. Think of the last time you were genuinely upset with someone: would you let it fester for 2 years and go through all the hoops of setting up a PPV, getting a physical, etc etc so you could have a boxing match to settle the dispute? This is a fantasy story, with WWE being the exact right analogy.

I don’t blame the player at all. PT Barnum and all that. It’s also not the first time in strongman feuds were fabricated to cause more of a draw. The people like drama.

No, because that person would have beaten me up.

I’ve been festering over the second-to-last person who really upset me for nearly 18 months now. This is a person I can beat up easily and there’s only six months of festering remaining before I get on the phone with Don King to set up our PPV boxing match.

Yeah I get what you are saying. Maybe I’m naive and think too much of Thor & Eddie.

Still stiff but Thor is looking much, much better than when he started and much more athletic. Leading arm still drops but the other one stays up so also better
