Eddie Hall 500 kg Deadlift

Loading and carrying strength is two different animals. I am particularly good at carry/load events, but average at best for deadlifting. I have a friend who can deadlift 500 but struggles to carry kegs that I can run with. I think a lot of it comes down to having a broad, heavy, and stalky frame.

He made it look almost easy… I don’t care if he was injecting tiger’s blood beforehand that was insane!

I get what you say but imo you’re plain out wrong
There are thousands upon thousands people using drugs. And that perfectly understandable. When it’s a life goal is to set a record or get placed you do anything possible to get a lead over the competition
Eddie didn’t prevailed upon some sorry ass natties,he faced some of the world’s strongest men and they all used steroids
So I think he deserves a great amount of respect

to be honest i saw him do the lift on the news earlier and it was impressive to watch without a doubt. it must all take a sheer amount of effort drugs or not. im pointing out the obvious i suppose lol

Yeah… the guy kinda said the lead up nearly killed him and he wouldn’t do the lift again unless someone breaks the record - even though there was more in the tank.

Would have loved to see what guys like Chuck Fought or Mark Henry would have pulled if they stuck with powerlifting. I don’t know there’s a guy in the game right now who could pull what Hall just did.

im not sure whether it was just rumours but i think he might be stopping it soon anyway. the strain that guys heart must be under lol its probably not even funny.

How did he train for his 500kg pull? How does his general training looks like and how did he build his 400kg + deadlift ? I can’t find any good informations :frowning:

I would imagine he’d want to keep this information pretty close to the chest. Watching videos, he was doing speed reps and some higher rep work.

Thanks for your response. I also believe he likes the leg press. What are higher reps on deadlifts ?

3x10in the 300+kg range is what I saw. That’s some hard training.

:scream: that’s why he is now the #1

3x10 with 60%-70%

Classic!

just read that apparently he nearly died doing it. man now do i feel like a fool

Now? Only now you feel like a fool?

oh well… live and learn.

Hopefully you aren’t referring to that dailymail thing. It was clearly a joke.

Wow I just watched an interview with him where he says he started out training like a bodybuilder! That means he was juiced to the gills from Day 1! And he PYRAMIDED his weights up instead of doing high volume pump work with light weights! This goes to show how much you can get away with despite not knowing how to train just by sticking a needle in your ass.

You ever notice it is the same group of idiots that show up turning any thread into a pissing contest? Seriously get a life.
