Eating Unhealthy to Meet Calorie Goals

…Only if they fall in line with being really really muscular. Otherwise, this is the same stuff we usually get from the “tone crowd”…that people with 15% body fat are obese and lazy.

Well, that’s their problem for thinking that.

There’s only one direction to take this thread:

Professor X, what do you like on your cheeseburgers?

NO MAYO…EXTRA MEAT…DRAIN THE GREASE.

[quote]Professor X wrote:

drain the grease wtf??? The only time I can see that making sense is if you take the poured grease and pour it over the burger.

Dude, try to eat a quadruple Whopper without draining the grease.

It’s disgusting.

I used to always ask they drain the grease out on paper towels. Considering they knew me by name, this was not an issue for them.

You see, never have I once told someone that I ignore what I am putting in my mouth.

Grease is always drained. Mayo is always off. Usually it is just lettuce, tomatoes and bacon. Nothing else.

Why not mayo?

Because it’s nasty?

Dude, what’s wrong with you?

Black people don’t eat MAYO!!! Damn.

Is it?

I’m asking honestly. My mother has prepared homemade mayonnaise for like, ever so I grew eating it often. I understand that the one from those places may be bad, but I have never bothered to check how they do it or anything.

I’m with X. My meal of choice at BK is simply a tripple whopper, no cheese or mayo. Didn’t know you could have them “drain the grease”.

Of course I’d prefer leaner meat for physique goals, but there’s nothing wrong with a good juicy fast-food burger now and then. One who seems to have a major issue with eating anything not labelled organic or grass fed is John Meadows. I read his articles and always think the guy is too paranoid.

They are just ok…

Back when the last Indiana Jones movie came out, Burger king had a signature whopper for the movie. It had BBQ sauce, bacon, jack cheese and fried onions on it. Now that was a burger!

You can also have them add extra meat patties for a buck-ish…

I think, if you have ALL your other ducks in a row, and are nailing all other aspects of the lifestyle, eating like that could make a marked difference.

But, if you are still at the “is it okay to do an extra set of rows after my 12/8/4 compound lift, and swap out DB curls for BB because they hurt my wrist?” stage, there are bigger fish to fry.

Food source comes somewhere after 1) total Cals 2) Macro breakdown. If you don’t have 1 & 2 in order, I don’t care what you eat, you aren’t going to get very far.

I choose my food battles. I’m eating between 1-2 lbs of beef per day. Shit is expensive on top of all the other “weightlifting lifestyle” costs (supps, gym memberships, etc) and regular life expenses.

Buying ‘regular’ steak (say, strip steak) is expensive enough. The ‘organic’ stuff (ie. certified fed, etc), add another dollar per pound. Grass fed (usually also organic), add another dollar. That adds up to a couple pounds of steak per week.

I already pay extra for the ‘certified metal free’ fish oil and some other premium stuff.

All I can say is if anyone plans on eating certified grass fed organic beef (and everything else), you better study in school or invent something that makes you a lot of dollars. This shit is expensive to do (one other reason I don’t fuck around in the gym— TOO EXPENSE NOT TO MAKE PROGRESS).

the grass fed free range meats are more expensive than the alternative (obviously) but in my experience (and from talking with the guys that I know who are also following the MDD) you dont need as much of it to make good progress. You dont need to eat 2lbs of grass fed beef a day IMO. Plus a good (and cheap) alternative is free range eggs. I eat a dozen of those a day and thats only 3-4 bucks.

That’s how you know most of these guys are still small. I had to go to school for damn near 15 years just to be able to afford to eat like I do.

LOL

There is no way in hell most of these guys are eating as much as I need to while being this concerned about whether it is all chicken breasts.

I was broke in college. I will take a little fat gain over stagnating for four years because I can’t afford rib eyes.
