I don’t see a problem here. I’ve got from 135 to 170 over 2 years and I still throw up in my mouth almost once a week. I don’t know if you ever get over it, but you get used to it.
Well you have a problem also.

Honestly. When you think of a bodybuilding forum one tends to think of people with above average body mass. I would assume that not many people at all that bodybuild will encounter the problem you have. Why not go to a eating disorder website? Or a forum based on hand raising pigeons?
X2.
or go see a doctor, and a psychologist. Who says, “I respectfully facepalm in slight frustration,” your one weird kid. It should seem fairly simple, in order to do anything in a greater capacity, you must work towards your goal in small increments. If you feel that you have done everything you can to work towards your goals, and you have failed, then you should seek professional help/counseling.
Ok then, I feel better. Damnit, I’m not weird lol I’ve just seen enough people around here get torn to shreds to be careful when I start shit on a forum that has ads for “INCREASING EXPLOSIVE FORCE” at the top of every page. Case and point, that “calebj” about Mr. 1600 Calories like 3 threads down. I don’t wanna start shit.
I HAVE been making progress, so I guess this thread has been a success because I know I’m not doing anything wrong. I haven’t failed at my goal at all - I feel bigger, stronger, and faster every day. I can eat more today than I did yesterday, I just didn’t know if I was progressing fast enough. The kid one post before me knows what I’m talking about. I’m not impatient with results, I just felt like I was doing something wrong.
So thank you TMuscle for not ripping me to threads on my first post, and I’ll continue eating like an angry fat kid.

This is just getting weird.
WestCoast, its a very simple idea. Not everyone started lifting big; some of us were small little frail people. Small rib cages, small stomachs, whatever. By the laws of physics, we can only fit so much food into our gut. For bigger people its unusual to think that is possible, but if you overfill a bucket and try walking with it, it will spill.
Jeez, acting like you’ve never puked before. Its not that weird, I swear.

Seriously? Just GTFO.
For the first couple of posts including the OP I had no idea what the thread was about.
Then I just shook my head a few times.

I started lifting weights at 125 pounds.
I’ve vomited less than 5 times in my life. Each time was from a stomach virus or from freshman year in college.
Vomiting is not normal
Every couple days, “starve” yourself for a while. For example, after a workout, wait 3 hours before eating anything. At the end of that 3 or so hours, have a TON of food ready to eat…then, with blood sugar low, shaking from hunger, SLAM that food down your throat, devour and demolish it with a passion. To the point you feel your stomach will explode, and a little beyond. Then just lay down for an hour or so to avoid puking. This will help increase your stomach capacity.
Breakfast:
6 whole eggs
3 slices toast
2 TBSP Peanut butter
Scoop of Whey Protein, banana, 2 cups of milk.
= 1200 or so calories.
No more hard gainer…
Seriously, if you’re not gaining any weight or muscle, it means that you are likely:
- Not eating enough (and enough protein).
or
- Not training like you should be.
Set protein intake high enough (1-2g/pound of LBM) and add calories to that (as fat and/or carbohydrates) until you find an amount that allows you to steadily gain weight on a weekly basis. Then, get your training dialed in and stop being a pussy.
Ok, from the last 3 posts:
BONEZ is not me.
hungry4more is someone I thank greatly for his advice and will most deff. be giving that a shot.
And Josh didn’t read this thread.
I thank you all once more for your advice and patience!
And BONEZ, forget eating for a minute - you’ve never ran so hard you’ve puked? Squatted so hard you’ve puked?
By the same logic, I could call you a pussy for not “training hard enough.”
Or maybe you could just accept that I JUST MIGHT be anatomically different from you, based on the fact we’re two different people. I thank you for giving me something to aspire to (WHEN I GROW UP I WANT A STOMACH OF STEEL JUST LIKE BONEZ) but what I’m looking for here is advice (hungry4more gets it perfectly).
I just assumed you were a random hard gainer like every 10th post on this forum…

No harm, no foul man. Its totally understandable. My “problem” (which isn’t really so bad now that I see I’m not alone) is that once in awhile I lose a meal from trying too hard to cram a shitload of food down my gullet (slightly exaggerated it before, in reality in the last year I’ve probably lost a meal a total of 4 or 5 times). But yeah, manning up and eating is deff. my game.
Dude, instead of drinking so much fucking water just add in a shake. Two cups whole milk and two scoops whey concentrate will get you another 550 kcal, or so. Do this twice a day so you don’t have to stuff your face to the point of puking.
PS - chicken sucks for bulking if you don’t have much of an appetite. Stick with fish, beef and lamb.

You created a thread about the fact that you can’t keep food down, then proceed to try to make puking seem normal, then state that it only happens 4-5 times per year. You need to stop being a baby. Eat your food, lift your weights, and stop using a thread to vent the fact that sometimes you face adversity while attempting to reach your goals.

You don’t need to eat like a bodybuilder tomorrow to get big, like anything else build the tolerance. If you go from 1000 today to 5000 tomorrow and that’s not something your body can handle it will do you no good and eventually you’ll be building more fat than muscle. Until your the average 200lb gym rat.
Look at your current diet eat that, add in a few more calories tomorrow. eat the same amount until you think you can eat more without vomiting. If it takes a week or a month, then add more.
Until then make sure everything is as calorie dense as you can possibly make it. As you grow, become more active, and your body demands more you will be able to handle more.
Side not if you just want to learn how to expand the stomach cavity many competitive eaters practice by downing cabbage and water once or twice a week like they would do exercise. Cabbage supposedly expands in the stomach and makes you feel full faster. After doing this they claim eating more food in a single meal is much easier. Of course not the same meal.

Thank you. I think what I’ve learned from this thread is I just need to slow down - I’m definately running a calorie surprlus, I just need to let it do what it has to do . I have a feeling given two months I’ll be up to around 150, considering I float very close to 140 now. I’ve definitely gotten bigger since I hit 140, but my mass stayed the same - something I found very interesting.
And Westside, please stop taking this all so personally man. I’m not weird, I barely vomit, I’m not condoning it, and frankly from the good advice others have given me here I’m pretty sure I’ll never be crossing that line again. If I still weird you out or something, I’m sorry you feel that way - in reality I’m just a normal skinny jerk trying to drop the skinny part.
I say peanut butter! Three big tablespoons in a shake or on bread, but I’m also confused as to whether this is an answer you want or if I don’t get it either.
I think as you enter your mid-twenties and after that it’ll be easier for you to keep more of those calories you eat.
