Eating on Non-Training Days

I’m forty and 5’5" 195 lbs and just started lifting. I’m lifting 4 times a week with 45 min of cadio 5x’s a week.
I,m eating about 250 grams of protein a day and eating 5 to six times a day.
I do 3 sets of 10 and do 2 to three sets for major muscles(chest) and one to 2 for minor(tris).

I’m getting bigger and stronger and can see that I’m growing.

THe problem is that I have alot of fat and I’m not really noticing any fat loss.5’5" and 195 is not good.

Should I decrease my protein intake on non traing days. I eat oatmeal, eggs, yogurt, chicken and steak and 3 protein shakes a day. One pre/post workout and before bed.

Thanks for any input.Like the fact that I’m building muscle but need to loss some fat.

I usually keep my protein intake the same and cut carbs out on non training days. Mostly fats and protein on non-training days. I keep my calorie intake the same and actaully because I don’t eat many carbs my protein intake may actaully end up a little higher on my non workout days.

I think you should listen to 2thepain. You’re recovering on non-training days so you need those proteins. Although from what you wrote, you dont seem to eat alot of carbs…

If you want to cut you need to lower carbs intake on non training days not protein. Also supplementing with fish oil may help.
