Eating for the big game

TC made mention to NFL teams and how they eat wrong before games, what would be the right why to eat before a 2:00 game, and if it matters i play nearly every play (offense, defense, and most special teams)

perfect diet within a game setting can often be difficult. tell me what your responsibilities before the game, meetings, tapings …In faith, Coach Davies

I’d love some help with this topic. On tournament weekends my team can play 3 games in a day. There is no way I can eat without running a very high risk of puking on the first person who tackles me. Games are usually spaced about every 2 - 2 1/2 hours. By the end of the day I’m practically crawling from hunger which inevitably leads to pigging out on the first food that I can lay my hands on. Any suggestions on some good ‘light’ food that will be mostly out of my system in an hour or so? (Pre-game warmups start an hour before game time)

thanks for teh reply coach…at 9:00 my team normally meets for breakfast (same as tc mentioned in his article, except we go to IHOP and get stuffed) the breakfast is not required to be attended, we meet as a team about 11 at my high school we watch video or go over our game plan, if the game is away we leave about 12, if it is home we sit in the gym till we goes out, about 12:30 we warm up then go back in the locker room till 1:30…i hope this enough info…thanks again

just to make sure i answer all your questions, i don’t have any responisibilties expect maybe bring out water and what not, and i spend the entire day till the game at my high school either in the locker room or gym…bring a mrp, or even a tubberware of food would not be a problem

Oatmeal loaded with honey.
