Easy, Healthy, Store-Bought Snacks?

Quite often I work a physically demanding job for 18 hours a day, 5 days a week. I’m able to take a break to eat a meal every 6 hours, but I’m looking for suggestions on snacks I can eat between meals. When I’m doing these long days, I’m not able to devote any time to food prep. I basically work, commute, and sleep.

Any suggestions on snacks that I can buy at a store that are healthy, relatively non-perishable (need to keep in a gym bag for up to 24 hours), and have little to no prep time?

beef jerky or tuna and nuts. Always gets me through in a pinch.

X2. Dried fuit/nut mix is great while you’re bulking too. Take whey/casein protein with you in tupperware containers.

Any reason to worry about the fat/carb meal that is fruit/nut mix?

Soudns really good

I’m all about the nut/fruit mix.

Depends on your goals. I love the stuff but won’t touch it because I’m trying to get lean. My brother has a 3lb bag in his car at all times (travels for work) because he’s bulking and trying to get ~5,000 kcal a day.

It’s delicious and will provide healthy fats and a steady stream of carbs to keep you glycogen replenished. I’d say go for it a couple of hours before, peri, after your workout if you’re trying not to gain too much fat on a bulk…or look into Carb Cycling!!!

worry about fat/carb mix < not missing meals

Here’s one idea.
-Buy a lunch box + reusable ice pack.
-Buy a lb or two of ground beef/turkey
-Cook all of the meat.
-Divide it into separate tupperware bowls and put in the fridge/freezer.

In the morning before you head to work take it out of the fridge, throw in some veggies, mayo, cheese whatever. Throw it in the lunchbox with the ice pack.

Fresh fruits and vegetables. Buy two bottles, one for water and one to keep dry protein powder in so you can just mix a whey shake whenever.
