17,000 steps.
Push-ups
Pull-ups
I had my 2 week check up.
Everything went well.
I’m cleared to walk without the cane, I was asked to still carry it outside my house and at work next week . No biggie.
Also OK to start push ups and pullups. I did a few sets of a few when I got home to see how it felt. I’m going to progress by feel.
Ok to lift up to 30 lbs.
I think I’ll keep walking as much as possible and gradually add in some strength stuff over the next few weeks.
No real plan, as I’m progressing just walk, a little lifting for fun .
Superman’s comeback.
Very kind, but a case of mistaken identity.
If we ( 35+ forum ) look around at our peers, we are in pretty good overall strength and cardiovascular health.
My surgeon was good, my family supportive, all I needed to do was get up and walk everyday.
Starting in reasonable good physical condition is a huge benefit to a surgical recovery.
19,000 steps
5 DB circuits
Hip rehab exercises.
Probably not going to hit 20,000. Yes was the day to do it ,and I had a phone call towards the end of my walk. No big deal.
Interesting reading through people’s post on the shortage of weights. Long boring story, my basement gym has 32 45pound plates. I don’t need that. Truth I never needed that. There’s not many other uses for those plates. Drink coasters ? , door stops?.
I’ve been able to sell 18 of those plates in 24 hours, all within 30 minutes of my house. I’m debating adding in the cost for information as I type. Clearly every locality will have its own flavor for cost items like these. Cordwood ( for those who live where there is snow) is a great example. Time of year, dry or green etc…
Will release the price , I asked and settled on at the first gentle twist of my arm ,AKA request.
13,000 steps
Good day. Did things other than walk and rest, getting back to everyday life.
Planning to walk today, some Very light DBs, wash the car, get propane for the grill, boring things that I was having a very hard time doing 18 days ago.
Happy Fathers Day to all.
17,000 steps
Very light DB circuits
Push-ups,planks
Hip rehab exercises.
Started to rain as we were finishing grilling. My youngest daughter, who has been home since March due to COVID,thinks her off will stay closed all of 2020. She made lemon cake for Father’s Day. It’s awesome.
Back to work today. I’m really ready to get back. I like what I do,I’ve missed not being able to work. A little anxious, but that’s good, focused and ready to go.
10,000 steps
Hip rehab
First day back was a 1/2 day . It was fine.
Although my steps were done, my af walk was a t a much better pace. I was going around 24 minute/ mile, yesterday was 20. Speedwork.
I’m going to start a more organized strength program between 4-6 weeks post op. Work in progress
13,500 steps
DB circuits
Goal now is walking at a 20 min/ mile for 60 minutes.
This is a reasonable pace of walking for an hour. This should not be overly challenging for me . Yesterday was 22 min miles.
Today is 3 weeks post op. I feel like I’m making progress, it’s now just more time and keep moving forward.
12,000 steps
Hip rehab
Planks
Pace 2.8miles/ hour for 1 hour. I started with a small Fitbit to track my distance and pace when I’m out walking. I think I’m more competitive and goal oriented with myself than I realized.
I’m going to push the DB circuit a little bit in anticipation of getting back to lifting.
I’m doing incline press, lateral raises, curls ( all with DBs) standing straight arm pulldown, tricep push downs. 5 sets 20 reps , no rest, then hip rehab stuff with some planks. The hip rehab exercises will progress next month

90 minutes very easy yard work.
I still get a little more fatigued than normal, but that’s improving.
All good.
Your posts now read as any other normal person’s.
Thank you.
I’m feeling pretty good.
Reinventing my training, rates pretty low on the problems to solve list.
Having fun, and enjoying my new hip.
Good to here you are feeling ok and seeing improvements. Stay strong

I’m feeling better every day,and fortunate.

Still at 2.8 miles/hour. Going to up the distance today, not worry about the pace. I’ve been doing 3-3.5 when I go for my afternoon walk. Work has put a crimp in my morning walk.
15,000 steps
Pullups,push-ups
Good day
13,000 steps.
DB circuits.
I haven’t hit 3miles/60 minutes yet. I’m confident I will next month.
Wednesday starts 2nd month of recovery and I’m going to be able to have more options available in my training. I tried some step ups and I think that might be a good movement. I’ll start easing in and see how those go.
4 miles
Planks, bridges, push-ups, pull-ups,
Hip rehab.
Finally had rain yesterday.
Today is my first day returning to performing surgery.
I feel good and ready to go.

Felt fine, a little endurance of time on my feet will help.
