A lot of folks have a sticking point a little ways off the chest where the arms start taking over for the chest. Floor presses can work that part as well as the lockout as 63Galaxie says.
I like them, they’re easy on my shoulders, but they don’t have as much carryover to my bench as board presses and dumbbell floor presses.
That’s because my forearms are so long (or my chest is so thin) that the bar stays 4-5 inches off my chest whereas the switchover area/sticking point for me is actually a couple inches lower.

Man thats some strong lifting! I am thoroughly impressed. How do you like the floor press? Ive never done them. What do they help?
Thanks Galaxy, you’re much too kind. Like mj, and skid said it trains that push off the chest. For me, that’s a sticking spot, but like skid said, the board presses are great as well.
DE squats after deads taken straight from a page in Mr. Skids journal. Sumos felt pretty good, last Saturday I was the only one pulling conventional, and I’m told I putting in too much back not enough legs.

I can’t claim credit for that one. It came from a program maraudermeat put together for me. Danged effective it was too.

Oops…that should have read 8 sets of three. Speed work, 8 sets of three reps very fast, little rest. Not as heavy as Mr Skids speed work.

I’ll update you guys on the Alpha Male soon. I can feel it’s effects now after about three weeks as the label info states.

Nice work brother! You are gonna make some big lifts this year.Stay warm up there.
You know Dave (can I call you Dave?). I like to read/follow your work, mainly because you don’t just COMPLETELY blow my numbers out of the water. But with the 345 Sumo, 2x3@365 Deads, what’s the bench now 255 (easy), Squat 400? I’m starting to feel left out again…ERIC.

P.S. Alpha Male update?
LMAO…Yes , I know what you mean about feeling blown out of the water. There’s some strong old dudes around here.I appreciate your remarks guys!
Well, the snow has melted over the last couple weeks, and the yard toys are calling my name. Went straight for the 120lbs stone. That sucker was really heavy!
Each set across the yard is about 40 steps, or 30 seconds.
120lb. stone carries
8 one way sets
Cinder block farmers
8 round trip sets
Not sure if it’s the lack of snow, or the different gloves I’m wearing, but the cinder blocks were easier to handle today. 8 round trips is a new best with them.

I don’t know what LMAO stands for, but if your telling me to stop whining and start training harder, then I will. Spring is in the air boys…
Alpha Male update???
Let’s share what I think about Alpha Male to this point. About what I expected so far after just about 5 weeks. It seems easier to push through those last couple of sets and reps in a session, especially when I was doing triples a couple weeks ago. Feeling recovery may be quicker, wasn’t so beat up after the deads the other day. I feel a little more stamina, a little more energy in the gym, which is exactly what I bought it for.
Some of the other effects of this product have been evident as well. Often reminded of them first thing in the morning. I bought two bottles, and just opened the second bottle last week, so, there’s about three weeks supply left. I’m hoping I’ve not yet seen the full effects, and look forward to seeing the effects well after it’s gone.
I love the Alpha Male. I only take 1 per day, as 2/day started making me a little more angry at the world. I’ve been off a couple times due to lack of cash, the effects will carry for 2-4 weeks depending on individual stuff. If I can’t afford Alpha Male, I’ll go on 125mg of DHEA every day, which is a poor second to the Alpha Male.
They say some disparaging things about DHEA on the site, by reference, but I haven’t been able to find an actual article discussing what is wrong with it.
