DZ's Training Log

Dave, I hope you and your family have a safe and merry Christmas.
Use a small drill bit and slowly (by hand) drill a hole in the nail. Hurts less than pushing a needle through.

merry christmas to u and yours dz. hope all is well.

Thanks guys! HAppiest of holidays to all of you as well. The finger is fine as long as I don’t bump it on something. Swelling is pretty much gone, and I was pulling pretty well the other day.
Z…my tire is under about 30 inches of snow right now. It doesn’t flip well in the snow, it just kinda slids.

Hey Dz, try and have a safer and merry christmas. You’re workouts are looking great and sounds like yor avatar is back to matching your weather conditions.

Good looking numbers there, DZ>

Looking good DZ –

If you’re like me this time of year, you should be getting a lot of extra ‘cardio’ with the snow-shovel, eh?

Merry Christmas!

Thanks Joe…I’m hitting all my targets for some PRs here in about a month. I feel my bench still suxs though.

Holy shit am I ever! We’ve already had over 48 inches of snow and Winter has just begun! The snowiest season I’ve seen in the 10 years I’ve been here in W. Michigan was 120 inches, looks like we’re on track to beat that this year.

There I was, being a smart ass, and you DO have a big tire to flip! Fantastic.
Does shoveling my heli-pad count as cardio too?

Shoveling counts for sure! I’ve been doing way too much lately. I think that’s why things came so difficult today.

Squats
1x10xbar
1x8x135
1x6x185
1x5x225
1x6x280
1x5x280
That was kind of disappointing. First I should have used 285, not that 5lbs matters that much, but then I didn’t get the last rep on the second set.

Leg Extensions
2x10x115

Leg Curls
2x10x140

Standing Calf Raises
3x15x170
That’s all the weight they have on this thing.

Leg Press
2x12x280

Incline Crunches
3x20

Medicine Ball Twists
1x30

Outside stacking firewood today, and thought I’d give the “cindy walks” a try in the snow. Damn that was hard! I shortened the chains to keep them from dragging so much, but they still drag through the deep snow.

10 one way trips across the yard

I HATE you guys!!! Make me feel like I do nothing.

Looks like you were in the Met-Rx strongman that was on TV a few hours ago!

DAMN DZ!! I 'spect that’s the work which keeps y’all northmen so hardy!

Needed to work off some frustration after the Bears loss.
I watched a bunch of that on ESPN the last few days as well.

I love that strongman stuff, I’ll never be one, but I can pretend.

Gotta love the outdoors regardless of the weather here or you’ll go nuts.

Heck, and i’m a Lions fan, how does that sound??? When I was a kid, I’d go visit my grandparents in Michigan at the end of the summer. They had a small farm in Melvindale & my grandpop owned a hardware store there as well. My fondest memories were visiting Greenfield Village(I was a car buff even way back then) and my uncle and my cousins taking me to Pontiac to see the Lions practice.

My uncle was friendly with some of the OL & DL and they always signed a football for me. Ever since then, I’ve never stopped rooting for them. This season I took my lumps on the pools at work 'cause I always picked them even though deep down I knew there wasn’t a good shot at a win. I lost many a crack at the pool money because of that but no matter still like them Lions!

Dave,
You’ve come a long way in a short period of time…this year I’m sure you set goals for yourself and attained them. For 2009, re-evaluate and set some new goals, then use that determination of yours and go get 'em! The best to you & yours,
Art

Awww man…don’t get me started on the Lions. I’m one of the few around here who will root for the Lions or the Bears, and the Tigers or the White Sox. But when it comes to going head to head, it’s the Bears and the Sox. All the best to you as well Art, and thank you very much! You and a few other here helped me a lot with my training for that first meet last Spring.

Server was down earlier…here’s Monday’s session.
