Making your own stuff is great. I’m making a sled out of tire (props to Dave Tate for the idea) cuz I cant spring for a $200 sled from elite.

Nice pics’ DZ, good looking family…Great video too, I’m geussing that your house doesn’t get messed with by the local youth, tp’d, eggs, ect…the typical halloween stuff!!!
Thanks Z! They like to steal my pumpkins, but that’s OK, we grow them out on the farm, so we have lots to go around.

Just caught up on your thread DZ. Good stuff. Sale of cinder blocks just went up. Do you find farmer’s walks help any of your lifts specifically, say deadlift, or just your overall strength?
Last week I was really sore in my arms and traps hel320, so, I’m not sure that this will help with my lifts. I made these to use for fat loss stuff, HIIT training back and forth across the yard. I salvaged these blocks from an old house being torn down.

I was really really sore QT. They went well, and I’ll keep doin’ them. That day was not a good day to do that, I had a long day at work and had about 4 hours of sleep than had to get back to work for another 7 hours. SO, I slept the rest of the weekend.
Stayed home and played in the yard today.
4 minutes of HIIT with the cinder blocks.
4 more sets with cinder blocks
3 sets with 120lb stone
Getting your moneys worth out of the cement blocks. Doesn’t take much equipment to get a good workout. Cement blocks, rocks, etc.

How much chain weight are you using DZ?
Working with bands and chains always makes things a lot more interesting.

Not certain. They’re really long and kind of doubled up, I’d have to say each one was about 15 lbs. Now that you’ve asked, I’ll find out.
I like using them, especially for close grip work.
The chains and bands do a great job for certain sticking points. Plus they really make you concentrate on staying tight and focused throughout the entire lift. They work the stabilizer muscles like crazy. I still remember getting dumped the first time I tried to squat with bands.

I really like how clean and to the point your training is.
Damned effective stuff too.

Well thanks Skid. It doesn’t look like a hell of a lot, but it was a good workout. I want to get better at those power cleans, cause they’re damned hard, and great for you.
I also hurt myself at work last night, so, I wanted to get a good workout in without a lot of sets and reps. I got my R wrist and hand caught between a couple of 2500 lb. racks of product. It’s pretty swollen and sore today.
Ouch. Good work through the injury, DZ.

Woke up to a cool cloudy morning. Built a fire in the fireplace and went out to the yard to play.
10 sets of cinderblock farmers
3x10 cinder block rig shrugs
8 sets of 80lb stone carries
That felt great…plenty of time to eat and settle in to watch the Bears and the pitiful Lions play.
