Yea hel320, it’s an arm routine I found back in the archives. SOunded like fun, and I could use some improvement in my arm strength.

I agree.

I’ve been wanting to fool around with an idea I had to lash two of my cinder blocks together for heavy farmers, and this is what I came up with.
Each block weighs about 60lbs, so, each rig should be about 125. I did 6 or 8 trips across the yard to get the hang of it. Then had my daughter get her stop watch out to do some high intensity training. One way across the yard was 20 seconds, so, that was perfect. 20 seconds carry-10 seconds rest for 4 minutes. That was really tough, and I can’t wait to do it again. Just got home from work, and my arms and shoulders are pretty sore.

I need to pad the handles some, they’re tough on my hands, so I wore some work gloves.
Homemade Tabata frickin’ Farmers Walks!
That is too cool!
Pretty sore this morning.
Bench
1x15xbar
1x10x95
1x8x135
2x13x185
T-Bar Rows
1x12x70
2x12x90
Push Press
2x12x50s
Cable mid-rows
1x15x80
3x12x120
Incline Crunches
3x20
How often would you do HIIT training like that? I really didn’t expect to be that sore and tired afterwards. 2-3 times a week? I suppose it depends how long it takes me to recover, huh?

You must scare the hell out of your neighbors.
Only a special kind of wife would allow their husband to do this kind of stuff in the front yard.
Funny thing is, after reading your idea, I am going out this weekend to buy some cinder blocks. Luckily, my neighbors already think I am crazy after seeing me throwing a tire and carrying an eight foot long piece of PVC pipe (slosh pipe).

As much as I could take of it without affecting my lifts negatively.
But I’m a lazy git. I was supposed to swing my KB and maybe do hill runs yesterday. Which I didn’t.
I’m getting my cement blocks out! I have to make a set of those. What a great idea.

I’m worse than you Skid. I have a sled that I bought several years ago and have only used it twice. The trouble is when I get home from work in the mornings on my non workout days all I want to do is crash on the couch. I need some motivation I guess. Or I’m just a lazy ass.
I’m glad you guys like my new toys, I like them too. I was using one in each hand, and it was great grip and forearm work, but I wanted something really heavy to play with and this is what I came up with. I’m gonna have a lot of fun with those this Winter.
BTW, the wife took a video of me during my first go with them, I’m pretty wobbly. I put it on my profile page.
The wife also helped me pick out the right hardware to assemble my new toys.
The difference between an athlete and a champ is determination. Those that want to get to the top of their game. Don’t make excuses they find solutions. Need I say anymore. Way to stay focused DZ.

Its great when the entire family is somehow involved with your workouts. How you like the sumos? I’ve grown to really like them.
Nice pics’ DZ, good looking family…Great video too, I’m geussing that your house doesn’t get messed with by the local youth, tp’d, eggs, ect…the typical halloween stuff!!!
Just caught up on your thread DZ. Good stuff. Sale of cinder blocks just went up. Do you find farmer’s walks help any of your lifts specifically, say deadlift, or just your overall strength?
