Great work on the cardio DZ. Here is my one tip for doing cardio. Always eat so carbs before you work out. A small amount is all it takes. Working hard to gain lean muscle mass takes time so lets not loss it during cardio. No carbs in the body and the lean muscle is going to get used to burn off your body fat. Eat a energy bar or something equal in carbs. Give’er hell Bro.
I am sure that you mentioned this earlier, but how big is the tire that you work with (roughly)?
I am looking at picking up additional used tires from the local tractor supply store (at no cost), but I need to get an idea of the sizes to get. I really don’t think I could flip a 500lb tire yet…

I found mine in a junk yard mday, there were four of them. It’s about 41/2-5’ tall, and about 18-20" wide. I’m guessing it was from a front end loader. Not much tread left on it, but it’s really heavy. I think I have a picture somewhere that may offer some idea of it’s size.Well, I guess I deleted them mday, check my profile, there’s a short video of the tire flip.
80lb stone carries
4 reps across the yard and back
Cinder block farmers
4 times across the yard and back
Just curious: Do you set down and regrip/lift after each yard cross, or do you carry the load for 4 crosses? Any idea how far one cross might be? I know it’s hard to ‘guestimate’ sometimes. I have the same problem!

Good stuff!

I count back and forth as one set/rep, and it’s about 40 yards total for each. With the cinder blocks abd 80lb stone, I don’t put anything down until I’m back where I started. Now with the tire, one way is 8 flips. I’ll stop to suck wind for a minute, then flip another 8 times. And the 120 lb stone goes one way as well. Eventually I hope to make the round trip with it, but right now I can’t.

excellent work daddy. do you like the pull throughs? I havent tried them.
Actually ecogenx, I think this is only the second or third time doing these. I do like them, I can really feel the strain in the glutes and hamstrings. I pushed the weights up a bunch, and those last reps at 200 tried to pull me back into the machine.
You have again inspired me to pull my stuff out of the garage and do some strongman stuff this weekend. Still looking for a big tire…
That’s really what I love to do the most. I’ve been thinking about building or buying a sled for pulling. I live in a rural area, and it took me a while to find the right tire. It’s not a tractor tire, it’s from an earth mover.
