Thanks Geech!I tried loading a couple of vids but they didn’t turn out too good. In fact one, wouldn’t load at all. I’m wearing a t-shirt from a Biotest competitor I got at the Arnold Expo a couple years ago, that may have something to do with it. I dunno?
Good stuff. The tire flip vid comes out ok but the stone carry won’t play for me.
Do you ever see any strong man competitions around your area? I keep my eye open down here but never see any, old guys or even open. I think it would be great to try one of those.

Hel…I’m wearing a t-shirt that has the logo of a Biotest competitor, I got at the Arnold a couple of years ago. It’s kind of amusing actually, I bought shit loads of Biotest products at the Expo but didn’t get any t-shirt. This other company was handing them out to everyone. Anyway the video works fine on my end, I have a feeling that’s why. I have not seen any strongman competitions in my area. I agree,it would be fun to compete in one.
I can already visualize you squatting over 400lbs. You have and awesome work ethic and it is going to take you where ever you wish to go. That tire toss and stone carry are going to make your core as solid as they come. Not to mention the legs.
Are you setting any goals for the summer. Or do you like taking it as it comes. Great jump on your squat dude, got to love when that happens. You’re a force of nature and you have no limits. See you at the top of the world Bro!
Thanks Streamline! I’m training with a basic Westside program right now. Towrads the end of July I’ll start a nine week program I’ve found that’ll take me up to the PL meet in September.
Good work DZ, loved the videos of the tire flip and stone carry. I originally got the idea of the strongman stuff from you, thanks for the ideas. I’ve been walking around my neighborhood looking for people who need wood split in order to get a workout in (what is wrong with me?).
I can’t wait to see what you do in September. My meet is in November, so I am looking to you for inspiration.

That’s cool mday! With all these storms we’ve been having there should be plenty of wood to split.

This program is starting to get kind stale for me. I’m thinking I need to focus on a fat loss program for a while. Without starting another thread, anyone have any suggestions? I’m really not much on fat loss. I do the obvious things, like eat 5-6 times a day, every 3 hours or thereabouts, drink lots of water, little or no refined sugar, hardly any junk food. 10-15lb. would be wonderful, I’d be pretty lean at 190-195. Is it simply a matter of bumping up the cardio? High intensity training, sprints, stair climber?

Well this is what has worked for me. Just understand I was starting a much lower overall fitness level (like zero) as compared with you.
Diet - as you said above is what I’ve been doing since last July (at least for the most part)
Total body training 2-3 times per week followed by 30-40 minutes of cardio of various types. I like mixing it up between running and biking & steady state and HIIT. Two days of other activity which has been Karate for me. one or two days of extreme cardio (1-2 hours)- my mountain biking in good weather, treadmill or stationary bike in poor weather.
I’ve gone from 225 lbs and zero fitness to 185 lbs and beginning fitness right now.
