Can slam it like nothin… almost every dunk xept 360?. Need some serious work for that…
Jumping mostly with both legs… My favorite slam is 270 with one hand power dunk…
Been training for 9 yrs… Now just streetball…
Last time I checked v.j. 43˝
P.S. White man CAN jump, and with style as well…!!!
Dunking was one of my major training goals 3 months ago when I was 170 lbs. and only touching rim on a good day. Now I’m 183 lbs. (5’10") and can finally do it. My squat went from 275 to almost 375 and that was that.
I’d say the increase in my squat and dunking on lower rims (9’6", 9’8", 9’10") on my off days made the 6-9" difference. Maybe JB’s nutritional guidelines helped a bit too.
Did my first dunk when I was 15 and 5’9-6’. God, what a feeling :). Seeing the entire gym class thinking “ok, we don’t have the slightest chance against that guy”. Granted, we had no basketball team, and I was the only one in my class really doing sports (team handball). Now at 6’1, 7 years later, I have no idea. Gotta find myself a field.
They have big verticals. I am 6 foot tall so would probably need a 30 inch vert to dunk, at present I think its only 27 inches. My lifts are relatively low so im concnetrating on getting them higher before doing things like plyos etc.
6’2" 195 lbs still dunking but nothing like the high school days when dunking was all I could do. I guess getting old forces you to become a better shooter.
Used to throw a volleyball down with ease in HS and college, one handed, two handed, one foot or two. never played B-ball outside of just pickup games, and was never able to get the timing right. Couldn’t palm a basket ball so it was never accomplished. 6’ 160 back then, 6’ 185 right now
Lol how did you find this thread, it was like 2-3 years old.
Can’t dunk. 6’1". Very close though. I’ve made my own little program for it, and am getting closer and closer.
So does anyone know if they released the article? Kellyb has his own website stictly for jumping and sprinting, but i’ve never heard of the other writer.
At the beginning of the summer, I could just grab rim. I would go to the court every day and get below the hoop and explosively jump and do a layup…I would do that for about 20 minutes a day…half-way through the summer, I could dunk.
Near the end of that summer, I came down on a friend’s foot and pulled some ligaments and tendons in my right ankle…and haven’t even touched the rim since.
I’m 5’10 and then was tipping the scales at 148. I’m now 183.
Here is motivation. I am currently aay from my home for awhile. Alomost 1 year ago i could actully catch the ball off the backbord, do a half spin and then a reverse dunk. It felt pretty aweswome since i am only 5.5. weighing in at 179. I used to do it all the time when i as playing with my son. I loved that 5 ft goal of his. I am such a badass!!!
