The article about their innocence never gets the same coverage as the accusation. That is one reason we need to stop simply accepting that every woman who cries rape is instantly the victim. The accusation alone can ruin someone’s life whether it is true or not.

Because as a former collegiate athlete I know firsthand the crazy things that women will do and say to get any kind of attention. It doesn’t matter if you have a 4.0 GPA or are a captain at one of the top team in the country, if something like this comes up, your image could potentially be ruined for the rest of your life, even if you are fully cleared.
Obviously you can say that they shouldn’t have put themselves in that position by hiring strippers to work at their party. That’s why I made sure to avoid any situation like this and am glad I had a girlfriend all through college. But I also think it sucks that an entire school can be tarnished by some stripper crying wolf, without any evidence or proof.
You shouldn’t be tossing around the rape term, linking it to people or schools with which you have no knowledge about, and not expect people to get mad.
The reason why I’m sensitive to this is because I can easily see how terrible it would be to have this happen to you. Plain and simple.
