Is good for bodybuilding?
What are drops sets and who invented them?
How to maximize drop set efficiency?
Drop sets are very good for bodybuilders (like anything would be) if used properly.
They usually involve something similar to
N reps at X lbs
N reps at (X - Y) lbs
N reps at (X - Y - Z) lbs
(You can go further depending on the exercise and your own desire)
Sometimes N reps are to failure, but that doesn’t have to be the case.
Since they take a lot out of you, and usually demand a great deal of recovery, if your gonna do a drop set to failure, I would only do it every 4-5 workouts on that body part.
Drop sets were invented in 1923 by Amanda Hugankiss. She was in her basement working with her Orbitron weight set. She realized one day that she didnt have enough weight to lift so she did drop sets to completely exhaust the muscle.
paul,
i see that you have a lot of questions. what you should do is go over to the left side of the screen and click on the previous issues section. start reading through all the past issues. that will answer most of your questions.
Wow.
LOL, Goldberg you crack me up, Amanda Hugankiss, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Goldberg: My grandmother said Amanda Hugankiss stole the idea from her. Grandma invented the drop set in 1921, but when Amanda saw grandma with 23 inch biceps she ripped her off and claimed the method for herself…I always knew she was a hussy!
yes
who cares
use heavy weight to start with and do lots of drops in each set.
