Drill instructer R. Lee Ermey Speaks His Mind

GEICO's R. Lee Ermey, appearing on behalf of Toys 4 Tots & USO unloads on President Obama - YouTube!

[quote]John S. wrote:

Protip: Obama is not a Socialist.

It would also be kewl if R. Lee would have acknowledged the previous Administration for their dumbfuckery.

The guy should lose his job, his job has nothing to do with policy

You are actually correct and I should probably retract my post.

If Ermey is speaking to military personnel he should be “politically neutral”. Soldiers, Marines, and Sailors would get reamed if they made the same comments as R. Lee.

The USO and Marine Toys for Tots are both nonprofit organizations, he does Geico ads, and he works for the history channel I believe. Why exactly should he lose his job…for stating his opinion?

His job with the Military makes him a ward of the Government , he is a true Socialist. He is not a private citizen.

I don’t think he should lose his job, but considering his audience, it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do.

Just my two cents.

What job with the military? Do you mean when he was on active duty before he retired?

My bad , I tought he was active duty. Then by all means he is entitled to his own opinion

“Protip: Obama is not a Socialist.”

True, but he is as socialist as he can be given the current system in America. He is only not a Socialist, because he can’t fully get away with it…yet. Kinda like the frog in boiling water. Right now the water isn’t boiling, but it is getting warmer.

Obama acknowledges this. He admits Obamacare is the first step towards single payer socialized medicine. On the record.

Only the ignorant or liars deny this.

â??I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its Gross National Product on health care cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody. And thatâ??s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And thatâ??s what Iâ??d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.â??

He admits it!!!

He wants SINGLE PAYER (socialized) medicine.

How does this make him not a socialist?

R. Lee Ermey Rules!

Socialism is an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources.

I know the Faux News/Beck types have called him a socialist, but that doesn’t necessarily make it so.

Obama is Corporatist.

Single payer is socialist. You need to work on comprehension.

My comprehension is fine.

I just provided you with definitions. You ignored them and questioned my ability to read.

I know using a cool buzzword like socialist to describe Obama is all the rage these days, but all it does is show the ignorance of those using it.

Obama is an even bigger Corporatist than President Bush was/is. Obama’s campaign was financed by some of the biggest Corporations in the world.

Certain words/terms have meanings. This is important.

Hell, T-Nation’s own resident socialist, Ryan McCarter won’t even claim Obama.

Ryan is a communist I believe.

And you are right, Obama is a corporatist or in other words a fascist.

I think you are correct, actually. Glad you pointed that out, I don’t want Ryan to come at me…bro.

Obama wants single payer socialist medicine. He is on record saying this. He is a socialist in this regard and likely many others. You apparently didn’t understand the definitions you posted.

It is politically incorrect and uncool to call him a socialist. People like you jump in and try to show he is not, when by his own admission he is.

He admits that his policies are a first step toward socialism and we cannot get there all at once. I’ll bet you didn’t even suffer through his book.

[quote]Big Banana wrote:

Did you read the definitions I provided? Socialism = workers own the modes of production. How do you not understand this?

And if Obama is on record saying that he is a socialist, well then he doesn’t know the definition either.

The truth is that Obama was hand picked by Big Business, especially the major financial institutions here in America. Not only that, but you should also check out the growth of Corporate profits in the last two years or so, under the Obama Administration.

Sorry, but Obama pushing single payer health care doesn’t equate to socialism.

Nah, it’s just that he isn’t what he claims to be. And I know you right-wingers hate it, but he really isn’t that much different than President Bush.

You can call him what you want. I didn’t vote for him.

This is the first statement you have made that makes any sense. Perhaps it is the first step to whatever “ism” Bams claims he is, but I can’t get passed his Corporate handlers, which are hardly socialist, that financed his campaign.

And I have no reason to read his book.

Holy shit you are stupid.

I knew that when you jumped into the truther thread but this clinches it.
