Understanding Obama

Good read from Ali Sina:
I must confess I was not impressed by Sen. Barack Obama from the first time I saw him. At first I was excited to see a black candidate. He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident ?? a wholesome presidential package. It is so instinctive for most people to want to see blacks succeed. It is as if all humanity is carrying a collective guilt for what the ancestors of blacks endured. However, despite my initial interest in him, I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling. His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words.

It is surreal to see the level of hysteria in his admirers. This phenomenon is unprecedented in American politics. Women scream and swoon during his speeches. They yell and shout to Obama, “I love you.” Never did George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Franklin Roosevelt. Martin Luther King Jr. or Ronald Reagan arouse so much raw emotion. Despite their achievements, none of them was raised to the rank of Messiah. The Illinois senator has no history of service to the country. He has done nothing outstanding except giving promises of change and hyping his audience with hope. It??s only his words, not his achievements that is causing this much uproar.

When cheering for someone turns into adulation, something is wrong. Excessive adulation is indicative of a personality cult. The cult of personality is often created when the general population is discontent. A charismatic leader can seize the opportunity and project himself as an agent of change and a revolutionary leader. Often, people, tired of the status quo, do not have the patience to examine the nature of the proposed change. All they want is change. During 1979, when the Iranians were tired of the dictatorial regime of the late Shah, they embraced Khomeini, not because they wanted Islam, but because he promised them change. The word in the street was, “anything is better than the Shah.” They found their error when it was too late.
“Anything but the Shah.” What does that sound like?

The revolution will be televised.

Colin Powell now understands Obama.

I know.

In all honesty, if I had the kook of a mother Obama had, I’d probably hate white people too. Just look at what she put him through in the early years of his life.

That said, if we elect someone with NPD to the office of president, we’re in for a wild ride - some of us more so than others.

He’s not really black. He’s a mulatto there’s a difference.

What quantity of which genes he carries is really irrelevant, IMO. He’s probably more “black” than Rev. Wright, he’s just chosen to identify himself with a certain black anti-white racialism, which is not surprising given that his white mother was a lunatic and conjured up a mythology about Barack Obama Sr. to make up for the biological father who abandoned him. Here’s to four more years of a POTUS with daddy issues and severe psychological problems to boot.

depends on who you ask…besides…I heard he’s more Arab than black!

Which would make him a black Arab.

I am surprised that with all the Obama threads in the forums this one was necessary.

Seems he may never be understood.

He’s gonna get elected ! ! !

And all these people are gonna loose sleep over him sitting in the white house.

Ooooh, how they’ll hate that.

And then he’s gonna do well.

And they’ll hate that even more. They know it. They feel it in their bones.

What the hell Wreckless?!!

Don’t you understand that Obama “hates whites?”
Don’t you know he had a “crazy kook for a mom?”
Don’t you know his wife is a “racist?”
Don’t you know he’s really a “muslim?”
Don’t you know he’s “not actually eligible to be president of the US?”
Don’t you know that he “conspires with Terrorists?”
DOn’t you know that he’s “conspired to steal the presidency via ACORN?”
Don’t you know that he’s a “black arab”?
DOn’t you know he’s “conspired with the ‘Muslim’ president of Kenya?”

What the hell??? Has T-nations PWI forum taught you nothing!!! You must be a socialist, racist (against whites), punk from college! Go get a job!

Yeah! You’re either white trash for McCain/Palin, or a black militant for Obama/Biden!

Jeez people! can’t we have at least one damn thread where instead of debating intelligently, we just hurl insults at each other?

He seems pretty understandable to me. All one has to do is read him. After all, not many 29 year olds are turning out 400 page autobiographies for the purpose of making their lives so understandable to everyone else. The thing is, no one reads books nowadays, much less Obama’s.

I just fail to see how BHO will be any more disastrous than GWB.

Nothing anyone can say about BHO can scare me in light of the last 8 years.

A step closer to single-payer healthcare?

And a step closer to socialism/collectivism more generally:

I’m truly surprised that our resident followers of the Austrian School/Hayek/Mises aren’t more concerned about Obama’s presidency.

A logical argument could be made for this given his 20 years listening to a black racist Pastor: “AIDS was created by the white man to get rid of the black population.”

Don’t you know he had a “crazy kook for a mom?”

Emotionally unstable is what I’ve read. But the press should not pick on someones mother or wife. Unless of course you are the NY Times and the subject is Cindy McCain…then it’s okay.

Don’t you know his wife is a “racist?”

She did say “this is the first time in my life that I’ve actually been proud of my country.”

Don’t you know he’s really a “muslim?”

He did say he was a muslim when interviewed on one occasion. While this may have been a slip of the tongue, at one point in his life he was in deed a muslim.

Don’t you know he’s “not actually eligible to be president of the US?”

While this may not be true, he will NOT produce a birth certificate…odd huh?

Don’t you know that he “conspires with Terrorists?”

While he may not “conspire” with terrorists he certainly was and is good friends with one, Bill Ayers.

DOn’t you know that he’s “conspired to steal the presidency via ACORN?”

No one can deny his ties with ACORN (legal work etc.) which should be questioned given their desire to commit voter fraud.

What the hell??? Has T-nations PWI forum taught you nothing!!! You must be a socialist, racist (against whites), punk from college! Go get a job!

And you must be a walking talking asshole, something that I’ve seen on this forum several times…If you were trying to defend obama…you failed.

well said…you’re the shining line on this forum…i love you, man.

I am an anarchist. I do not think any president is going to be good. We have had huge amounts of socialism in the last 8 years; nothing is going to change no matter if it is going to be McCain or Obama. They are the two sides of the same coin.
