the thing about this unit is that the weight lever is too high. You can’t do the variants, ie - bent legged, spread eagled etc
I have a feeling it won’t feel the same, but it is better than nothing especially for loading up.
anyway as far as the tendo/MML lab goes there is a nice thread on this I started, all the info is there
IMHO I don’t think that will do the reverse hyper any justice.
One of the best benefits of the real reverse hyper is that as you swing pass perpendicular to the ground you decompress the lumbar verterbrae. I don’t think that this machine will achieve that effect because of the design of the loading arm which would give you no load at the top and hence less momentum to carry you through the perpendicular. Also the way the front supports are designed wouldn’t allow you to anyway.
Worst than all that you will be seeing virtually no loading at the top of the movement where as the real reverse hyper is at its hardest at this point. Obviously you will see some benefits if you load it up but I think Louie Simmons designed his machine through years of trial and error to get the movement which he found was the most effective and this machine has a very different overload pattern.
thank you all for the input, we may just fabricate one, use a little trial and error ourselves till we have something that works well
kaizenhp : bands should be on the way… web purchase from efts. look forward to the review, but liek i said we will probably just build our own if we cant find a suitable one locally.
we are having a whole heap of equipment made up that we cant find locally…
Heavy duty power racks (efts style) with band attachments etc
a heavy duty competition bench
lifting platforms
weight releasers
a chain system
lots of other goodies as well, im helping to design them as nothing sourced locally is even close to being of a high standard esp when dealing with Heavy duty equipment.
possabilty exists that we may then sell the designs/equipment if there is a demand. shouldnt be hard to compete when everything here is sooooo overpriced and of such low quality!
ColCool : thanks for teh link, id seen that before. It only seems to mention the musclelab? did you ever get any info re: australian distro?
