Dre Day

Hi all, I was thinking of posting a new thread, but since I’m in the same situation as Timbo, I’ll post here. By the way, this is quite an inspiring thread.
Well, I’m 5’10, 20 and here are my results since I started lifting in mid-summer 2000:

August 2000: 123lbs 5% BF (… almost looked anorexic…)

April 2001: 151 lbs 10% BF (… thanks to some reading, T-Mag and some knowledge)

My abs are starting to disappear under this small layer of fat, which is normal since I’m bulking, but summer is approaching.
I was thinking of starting a cutting diet+cardio to get down to 7% BF, but I’m hesitating since I’m not carrying enough muscle mass yet. I obviously want to get to around 190-200lbs. I’ve put a goal, which is, as Timbo, reach 175lbs by December.
But for now, what do you T-bros think I should do, cut, or ditch summer, abs and chicks and continue to bulk?
(I’m on a 3300Kcals, 35% pro, 55% carb, 10% fat diet)
Thanks

Busting on me Tiny Tim?? Just cause the whopper has a few cravings? (like chili dogs, Big Montannas, and mozzerella sticks…oh and hot wings, and hot sausage?) Look oh tiny one…when you put some poundage on the frame, you too will learn the joy of muscle…you can cheat!! LOL! As far as the wrestling thing…like I said, a snowballs chance in hell…I do have the size, but I wouldn’t know where to begin to even consider trying out for the WWF and as I said…at 31…it aint likely…I will stick to the martial arts…now EAT timbo!!

Dre…as far as my experience, I am a striker thru and thru. I have very little ground experience, and being my size, could probably out muscle someone if it came to ground work. For me, all the arts I have practiced are striking arts (JKD, TKD, Combat Karate) and I have enough counters and strikes to end most encounters quite quickly. I am of firm belief that if a street situation gets to the ground, your in trouble…dispite what the grapplers think…statistics prove them wrong.

Dudes. There comes a time to cut the deadwood, sad as it may seem. Reading these posts tells me that Timbo/SB/gangsta wannabe has long past put-up or shut-up. May be harsh, but throw the little fish back. Oh, and Nate Dogg…how’s the weather down there? LOL

MrZedd…you can throw this lil’ fish back in the ocean you can find, my man, but cast your rod again and again and I’m gonna keep biting, my man. I’ve got a new mindset and specific goals to achieve. I won’t be spinnin’ the wheels or letting time pass me by any longer. Thanks for the extra words of encouragement, makes me wanna hit these deads and squats even harder, baby.

Neil, nice job with your progress so far. And yes, you are still too lean for your height. As for what you should do, since summer is around the corner, maybe bulk a little for a month, then cut for a month and alternate for the summer. That way, you can gain a little more, but still have some abs to show. I wouldn’t go trying to get super lean, as you may not have enough muscle to show. Save the big bulking for the fall. Then go all out to reach your goal of 175.

MrZedd, the weather has been great in Gatorville. Actually, it's been cooler than usual...only in the 80's. The northeast has really gotten the heat lately and have had some record highs. It's strange, but it will go back to normal soon. And it will be getting very hot in Florida very soon! :)

Neil…great progress so far, buddy, keep fightin’ the good fight, my man. I know where you’re coming from, and you should be jacked about your progress so far…but we’ve both got a long way to go. I agree with the Dogg, that you should try to pack on some more weight over the next 4-8 weeks or so, and then diet off any bodyfat for the summer. That’s my plan, but if your heart’s not in it then it’s not going to work. Find out what YOU want to do, and do it…we’re here to help, bro. I think 175 is an underestimate though, for me anyway, there’s no way my man whopper’ll let me get by with that:-)

Speaking of whopper…I wish I woulda had someone like you kick me in the ass a long time ago, big guy…I never knew eating could be so fun in and out of the gym. It’s just a matter of looking your fears and obstacles in the face and tackling them by the horns. Thanks, my man.

Nate Dogg…How’s the weather? Hahaha! You bust me up, baby.
