What is Dragonball Z?
…You’re joking right?
Of course not, have you ever known me to joke on these forums?
Anyway, what do you guys think about the Dragonball movie set to be released next year? I just hope they don’t make it too corny. There’s a lot of silliness in Dragonball that won’t carry over too well in a live action movie. Hopefully, it will do well enough so they can get to making the DBZ movies. I think I read that they want to do three movies total.[/quote]
I really want the movie to be good, I just hope they dont make it for 5 year olds… anyone who watched db\dbz on tv is probably 16+ and thats counting the regular reruns from the 90s and early 2000 ish

It is realy funy that this came up I just started watching DB again I downloaded all of Dragonball, DBZ and GT. I have to say that after watching it again the Freeza saga is by far the worst. Go back and watch it all over again and youll see what I mean. I know as corny as it sounds but Gohan and Bardock were my always my fave.
GT is also much better that most ppl think if you havent seen It you need to.
I wanted to give Superman the strength because he tends to hold back so he doesn’t hurt anyone. But even then, Goku is no weak hombre. I still think physically, supes would be stronger. But due to his power level, Goku’s body oozes power like the other Z fighters.
Silver Surfer vs Goku: Silver Surfer. Because with his power cosmic, he could probably shape Goku’s energy into anything he wants. Silver is supposed to be extremely powerful.
Fighting Skills: Goku when he was 12 would mop the floor with Silver.
Here’s one for you:
Cell(Final Form cell) vs the X-men(90’s tv series line up).

Cell would mop the floor with most of the x-men from that line up. His speed is unmatched and the only person that might withstand a single blow from him would be wolverine, if he doesn’t punch his head into orbit.
Now if you talking about Jean Grey when she turns into Phoenix then cell might be in some shit. Also if Iceman (when controlled by the Emma Frost) is in the picture then cell just might get his ass handed to him. Also cell wouldn’t even have to fight them, all he has to do is drop those little baby cell things and let them rip the x-men apart. The x-men fight with excellent team work but they are too slow and not superpowered enough to take on cell.
Maybe it would be a better fight if you were talking about Yamcha, Tein, and Krillin againt the X-men, 90’s tv show lineup.
Frieza saga was the best hands down. The saiyans got revenge on the being that destroyed their planet and race, a saiyan hit the legendary level that afterwards got watered down by having everybody be able to reach it and go even beyond, and Vegeta explained how he ended up the way he is.
Frieza is even a better villain than anybody else they came up with. Cell was a scrub on villainous acts and buu just didn’t give a fuck. Frieza wanted people to suffer for his own gain.

I’m with you on that. And I couldn’t tell if Frieza was gay or straight. I couldn’t tell if he was a guy or a girl either. Androgyny scares me. IT’S A TRAP.
the real question is why do the bad guys always seem to want to have eternal life? wouldn’t it be depressing every one you know dieing all the time and what happens once the universe no longer exists?
I have seen all of them. But when was the last time any of you sat down and watched the whole namek saga? As I was watching it I was thinking to my self…“man this was so much better when i was 13”
I enjoyed watching the Sajin saga and the Cell saga but the Namek just goes on and on and on. Of the 276 episodes of DBZ Namek is 68. Cell is only 25. It has the worst dialog and the action is so much better in the Cell saga. Plus the Gynu Force could very well be 5 of the dumbest char ever. I mean what purpose dose it serve to have Capt. Gynu take over Bulmas body other than wasting my time?
Im telling you go back and watch if you dont skip 5-10 episodes then your a better amn than me

I liked Namek saga because everyone was on the run. Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma couldn’t beat Frieza’s army let alone Frieza himself. So they had to get the dragon balls without getting caught. I liked that. It was suspenseful.

They want eternal life so they can rule the universe forever. They don’t truly care about anybody else, they’re just pawns. Except that after Frieza eternal life moved to the side for “hey guys, i’m strong i’m gonna hurt you”
I actually watch the events on Namek all the time, and it holds up much better than Cell or Buu. They have no purpose whatsoever. The dialog is awful, and once the androids are captured then it just kind of flounders around. On top of that they had to make Cell able to regenerate to be able to prove a match THEN after he blew up they made him stronger and even then he wasn’t a match for Gohan so they went and broke his arm. Hell, even then they had to use the same plot device since the saiyan saga that Gohan has crazy energy inside of him and beats Cell. Vegeta going crazy and trying to destroy cell is the only redeeming part of that hunk of shit called the Cell Saga.

Sounds like someone deserves a friend invite.
I still liked the Cell Saga though. DBZ was supposed to end with Frieza saga. Akira Toriyama was like “Jesus, they want more…fuck…I’ll use Garlic Jr. as filler until I come up with a new villain”.
The show, up until the end of the Namek arc, was fucking epic and awesome.
Cell saga - Only redeeming points were Vegeta being a bad ass, and SSJ2 Gohan. Of course, they then proceeded to murder Gohan’s character in…
The Buu Saga - Without Majin Vegeta and to some extent Gotenks, this saga was a steaming pile of feces.
Dragonball GT - So… fucking… bad… once again, only good part involved Vegeta with a mustache… I mean being a bad ass. And even that was cheapened by the REUSED plot device (Beibe Vegeta = Majin Vegeta on crack).
Still… it was the first anime I ever watched religiously, and it got me into the ‘superhero’ scene. I owe my passion for exercise to said scene, so I guess I owe a lot to this show.
