Against Frieza nobody could compare against any of his forms. First form he beat the hell out of Vegeta, Krillin, and Gohan. Then he just kept going up and beyond.
Final form nobody was a match for him and he knew it. Even when Gohan went apeshit and used the masenko to push him into the ground, after thinking Frieza was done for, you see him get up like a man who just woke up from the worst sleep in his life.
Frieza was made to be the greatest warrior in the universe, cold, ruthless, nothing n his way to keep him from his goals. Hell, super saiyans , according to the legends, have no equals. What happens when goku goes super saiyan? He has an equal. Frieza and Goku beat the holy hell out of each other. Frieza even kills Goku, proving that no matter what he is uneven in terms of power.
Cell’s second stage was a bum. Both Vegeta and Trunks were far beyond him in terms of power. Vegeta, toying around, beat the crap out of him like it was childs play. Trunks beat the hell out of him like childs play.
The greatest threat in the world has two guys who are both incredibly stronger than him. Hell, only reason he got so far was because of Vegeta’s ego to fight something stronger. Then once he mopped the floor with Vegeta he was beat in terms of power YET AGAIN by trunks.
They had to give him the speed advantage otherwise trunks would have killed him with one punch to the head. Then after all of that Cell waited around for a week. Once that week was done they have them fight tournament rules. Step out of the ring and lose. Thats it.
Cell and Goku have a good fight until the ring gets blown up and even then Cell is having trouble fighting Goku, then Goku knows he cant win so he puts in his son. After Gohan gets the hell knocked out of him Cell has to release little versions of himself to beat the shit out of everyone.
Gohan then goes to 2 and is so powerful that he punches android 18 out of cell. Thats right, he punches Cell so hard an android he swallowed gets knocked out of him. A kamehame wave that Cell fires that could destroy the planet gets knocked back by Gohan’s lazy kahemahe wave.
After all of that Goku takes Cell, who is about to explode, to King Kai’s planet where he explodes and becomes more powerful and shoots trunks through the chest. Do you know why? No. I’ll tell you.
Its because they have already established that Trunks, other than gohan and the now deceased Goku, were the only true threats to Cell in his form. Remember the final struggle between the two where everybody had no effect other than annoying Cell? Trunks would have helped substantially.
Cell saga was worthless. They made an android who couldn’t even catch krillin in his first form be the main character. Second form he got his ass whooped by Vegeta and Trunks. Final form they brought him back stronger and he STILL couldn’t beat Gohan. They even broke his arm when trying to save Vegeta.
Frieza was unstoppable in every form he was in. Killed Vegeta, killed Krillin, killed Dende (the guardian of Earth) and even killed Goku as a super saiyan, who had a power advantage over him. Frieza sent goku into the core of namek killing him. He has no equals. He proved it. Cell has no equals because everybody beats the hell out of him. And if Cell even tried what Buu did (going to Otherworld) there are guys there that would have beat the hell out of him faster than Gohan.
Frieza’s the best, Cell blows.
