Dragonball/Z Thread

Best lifting inspiration ever was the linkin park meshed with dbz clips

I love DBZ, Dragonball and GT. My favorite show of all time. DBZ is the best of coarse. I thought the majin buu saga was drawn out but I still watched three times.

Ken Shiro fought Goku once. You decide who won:

First of the North Star is beyond badass. I’d like to see more of those episodes. I saw two and the movie and all of it awesome

I remember when goku used to eat bowls of rice or anything in sight when he was hungry…everytime I saw that my appetite skyrocketed and headed downstair for rice.

DBZ is pretty much the reason I started lifting.

I’ll have to go with Piccolo as my favorite character as well. . .

And yet you post a pic of Kakkarot/Goku. No biggie.
LoL, I was too lazy to search for a pic of him. Thanks for having my back

I used to have a subscription to DB, the small paperback comics, which were just a compilation of sevearal months of the weekly DB strip in Jump. Better than the show, because the art was consistant and they didn’t stretch out scenes forever like the show.

I think why GT sucked was because it was never a comic. It was like they wrote it as they went along. And since it wasn’t in comic form in Japan that pretty much sealed GT’s fate. The fate to suck and be totally disregarded.

I don’t think there is a person in Japan who doesn’t know DB. Or Goku’s voice actor.

GT isn’t canon, so we can discount it from the get go. And Goku’s Japanese voice actor is a lady. I think she’s currently in her early 50’s.

To Otoko:

How big is DBZ in japan over there? The last DB related show was on in 96, so how is the popularity holding up?
It is still big. They have the PS2 and PS3 games. And they have these game machines where kids insert cards and the characters battle. So every generation is exposed to DB.

Yeah Goku’s voice is this old lady. I remember they voiced over an entire show with Furiza’s voice. You just had to hit the bilingual button on the remote to hear him host the entire show as Furiza. Japanese people love that stuff.

I remember watching the Buu saga in Japan when I was 7 or 8 (I think that’s right).

I didn’t know what the characters were saying, but they beat the hell out of each other and I thought that was pretty awesome.

Well, when my family moved back to America I saw that Funimation was translating and re-releasing the series for a US audience. I enjoyed the American version because I could understand the language, but I still believe the Japanese version was far better.

Better music, better voice acting (even if I didn’t know what they were saying), and, as closer-to-real translations reveal, better dialogue.

I still haven’t figured out how to make my muscles grow by yelling episodically.

Fist of the North Star was awesome but you do know it is a blatent rip off of “The Road Warrior”,right?

You need to have Saiyin blood to get that to work.

The man likes to bulk, nothing wrong with that.

Obviously, no Saiyan is carb-sensitive.

It is realy funy that this came up I just started watching DB again I downloaded all of Dragonball, DBZ and GT. I have to say that after watching it again the Freeza saga is by far the worst. Go back and watch it all over again and youll see what I mean. I know as corny as it sounds but Gohan and Bardock were my always my fave.

GT is also much better that most ppl think if you havent seen It you need to.

There is nothing else like Dragon Ball

Christ at the Characters!!

493 episodes of Dragon Ball

I think they just released the DVD set for GT here in Japan. I was slightly interesrted. They released the box sets for DB and DBZ last year.

I have seen a few episodes of GT but was turned off. There is no comic that I know of so that further put me off. It doesn’t surprise me they could not get a consistant tv slot in Japan.

Japan, no comic version=no one cares. Everybody reads comics here.

What about Krillin or Yamcha? Can’t they do that? They’re human.

I believe the creator of the series said he drew inspiration from Road Warrior and Bruce Lee.

Kenshiro= Brucee lee
Shin= Chuck Norris

Best they can do is power up. Never seen them change size. I have seen Tien get his arm punched off and Yamcha impaled.

I don’t remember them getting physically bigger, just a power/aura boost.

I thought they got a little pumped up but I could be mistaken.
