Holo,
When did you sustain the injury?
What kind of symptoms did you have at the time?
The hip flexors are in that region as well.
Take care,
Ryan

It’s on the bottom of my heel and I supinate slightly.
The bruise showed up slightly on the side.
Never happened before…
-Get Lifted
Injury happened Mid July by august 1st I was relieved of pain, so in all 2 weeks of moderate pain.
symptoms: hurted while doing nothing for 1 week.
week 2 no pain while immobile.
week 2 I tested to see when how it hurt tried to sprint and it hurt while sprinting. I tried jogging and to my surprise it didn’t hurt.
after the “test” I still didn’t run or do anything. when I stretched my hip flexors I felt intense pain in my lower abdominal region(pubis)
Get lifted,
If it is on the bottom of the heel, you may have irritated a band of the plantar fascia.
Let me know what the trainer says after he evaluates your foot. I may have some recommendation depending on what he finds.
Take care,
Ryan
Holo,
Well I would suspect you pulled a hip flexor as opposed to the lower abs, but since I didn’t have the chance to evaluate you at the time, it is hard to say.
What kind of leg and ab training are you currently doing?
Take care,
Ryan
I am off for the night. I will check the thread tomorrow and answer any late arriving questions.
Take care,
Ryan

If you have a loss of cartilage, I would recommend that you use a good glucosamine supplement to help maintain the remaining cartilage.
As for how squats would affect you condition, it would really depend on how much cartilage is gone and if there is significant bone/bone forces due to loss of joint space.
Obviously squats will create a compressive load on the hip joints, which could potentially irritate the hip. However, the increased loading is performed for relatively short duration. I would think that long distance running would be more problematic.
Are you performing squats currently? If so, how does the hip feel the next couple of days?
Take care,
Ryan

Thanks, sounds like I have a good doctor. She put me on glucosamine right away. The hip feels generally fine. If I do not exercise I start to limp after a long walk, but I can keep it at bay through squatting.
The joint space is fundamentally gone. I tore the tendons in the hip including the blood vessels feeding the cartilage. The tendons healed, the blood vessels didn’t. She also told me that there will probably be a hip replacement in the future, but encouraged me to go back to the gym (,not specifically mentioning squatting).
