Any fellow sludge or doom metal fans out there? If so, can you recommend any good albums? Lately I’ve been listening to Black Sheep Wall, The Abominable Iron Sloth and Admiral Angry. Anything heavy as fuck and almost laughably slow in tempo is what I’m looking for. Any suggestions?
Also, has anyone picked up the new Architects album? Definitely not doom/sludge but it’s catchy nonetheless. Way better than their previous album.

I’m know more about the stoner/doom side but the obvious ones like sleep, electric wizard, orange goblin, eyehategod, acid king, witch etc are always good choices. Church of misery are pretty fucking cool too, but definitely more groove/stoner than doom. I’m interested in any decent suggestions here, anyone got any bands heavy enough to shake apart the earth itself? Other than sleep obviously.
EDIT: Anyone here insane enough to listen to Sunn0)))? They’re pretty fucking heavy if you’re into the noise end of the musical spectrum

All 3 are just fucking epic, Ahab with an almost wistful sorrow and a real dark ambience, Thorr’s Hammer with some insane heaviness and The Angelic Process just bringing pure sound straight out of hell. These guys are all going into my regular rotation.
Just discovered Iron Monkey and they made some awesome sludge, Kalas are some very hard rocking dudes too (I love their encyclopedia metallum entry, under lyrical themes it just says “drugs”). There’s just so much seriously good shit out there.
