Don't Look Back

So today is an off day. I hope I don’t get kicked out of Powerful Women for admitting this but it’s girlie night for me. Nail painting and fake tanner and then I’m going to bed early. I changed my work schedule to go in late tomorrow and Friday so I can hit the gym early.

There is zero activity involved with my job (assistant bank manager) but I’m wiped out in the head when I get home. Ever since I’ve been getting back to the gym, things have been better and I’ve been more organized in other areas of life.

HEY!!!

today is my off day too!

I did the driving range after work with friends… you know… being designated driver sucks sometimes ESPECIALLY as tonight was my Friday and they all work tomorrow. Damn them, damn them all.

So how are you feeling about your training now that you’ve started the log?

Is it too soon to know yet?

Mondays my ass is dragging since the weekend are big gym days for me. I am hoping that starting the log will push me to do that elusive 4th weight workout I’ve been chasing. Most weeks I’ve been doing 3 lift days with a cardio day thrown in somewhere. This week I will hit 4 lift days cause of going in late but next week will be a challenge.

I feels nice to get some support. My family doesn’t think that going to the gym should be high on the prority list so when I tell them I can’t go somewhere because I’m going to the gym, they give me a hard time. The guy that I was interested in thinks I should be doing high rep, low weight work. I understand that people have their own opinion but that’s not who I want to be.

I do girly things all the time. I’m quite girly. I wear make-up to meets because I like to look pretty lifting heavy shit.

I already think you should find some one besides this guy. He bugs me and I don’t even know him. Having said that, what was the context of his comment? Did he offer unsolicited advice? How insistent is he with his opinion. If it was a passing, uneducated comment, just let it go. If it wasn’t, emasculate him and leave him crying in the ditch. Well don’t, unless you really want to

I once had a guy offer to train me. He said I didn’t need to lift so heavy and I could hurt myself. I chose, instead, to hurt him. Life is all about choices right?

I think it’s because we are mismatched in the body type dept. He usually doesn’t give advice and lets people be what they want but I was taken aback when he said what he said. It won’t influence me to stop doing it because I know there are guys out there that do dig it. After me saying that this is what I want, he let it go.

Today’s episode:

Bench
2 sets 65 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 85 lbs 8 reps
2 sets 95 lbs 5 reps (yipee)
1 set 85 lbs 8 reps

Bent over row
5 sets 45 lbs 8 reps

Military press
2 sets 45 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 55 lbs 6 reps

Lat pulldown
2 sets 70 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 75 lbs 8 reps

Tricep pulldown w cable
2 sets 70 lbs 8 reps
3 sets 85 lbs 8 reps
1 set 70 lbs 8 reps

Notes: So I have to give props to Van Halen today for getting me through my workout. Yes, even the songs with Hagar. Now that my precious David Lee is back all is forgiven!! After the weights, I did 30 min on the Precor. My bench has finally hit 95 but I want to be able to do a few sets of 6. I was doing the bent over rows to practice form and my lower back is a bit pissed off right now. Hopefully it’s nothing and I just need to rest.

I know, right?!?! I am even going to throw up a real pic of me for my avatar. Some people don’t realize that I’m a girl cause I’m such a jackass!

It’s okay, I had to put up a pic of me smiling because I’m pretty sure most people thought/think I’m just a massive bitch ALL the time. I have nice moments. [/quote]

Ahem…wasn’t me.

Anyway, nice to see you start a log now, too. Good luck!

Thanks, Vader. May the force be with me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Random junk:

Today I did 45 min on the precor but no weights. Yes, me and the precor have a strong love affair. I was going to walk outside but started raining the second I got out of work. Usually when I start doing cardio for more than 30 minutes, I get wicked run down and start skipping workouts. Now that I have you hookers to keep me in line (and I’m getting more sleep), it better not happen again!! Tomorrow I have family stuff to do so leg day will be Friday morning.

I will post my workout when I get some green tea in me. But I learned two important lessons today:

  1. It’s too soon to do my two fav lifts in the same workout, squat and bench.

  2. It’s probably not a good idea to be getting my rocks off the night before a big workout. Shit.

You know the whole, it decreases your athletic ability thing, is just a myth, right?

It makes me sleepy so I should time it better. I need to be an angry bitch when I go to the gym!!

I like to wait until I’m actually in the squat rack. It really cuts down on the number of people that ask questions.

This morning I saw the remnants of a resistance band near the squat rack in my gym. Looks like the handle was ripped off and the end was frayed.

Either you get around, or this is a new fad.
