Haha, clever. When’s the last time you saw yours big guy? Maybe you should try growing your arms instead of your stomach.
And I think you’re right (thanks Nard) rogue. I never really told her that much about my goals, but as I went from 185 to 195 and got stronger I noticed she was a lot more eager to take my shirt off in public. I’ll make sure to post pics in rate me once I hit 205.

I recently hit my goal of being 195 with a defined six pack, but after realizing how not big that is, I was contemplating gaining another 10 pounds. The weird thing is that my girl and every other female who knows about this goal have pretty much unanimously said that I shouldn’t get any bigger, because then I won’t be buff, I’ll be a freak. And to be perfectly honest, I’m probably just gonna focus on strength now instead of getting bigger since I’m far from a purist (the gun show is for the girls). Has any body else heard anything like this and what do you think? Does it change your goals at all?
Girls always say that. They will say the same when you get to 200, 220 and so on…that you look fine now but don’t get any bigger. Women like fantasy…and I am pretty sure most live in a constant version of their own Soap Opera in their heads daily so when they think of you “bigger” it involves some insane day dream where you turn into the Hulk and rip their arms off.
I went to a pool party last week and they seem to still like guys with some size on them. If nothing else, you stand out more…which doesn’t exactly work against you.
More importantly, why the fuck would any grown man base his goals in life on what someone else wants?
People like that don’t ever stick with this…so if you are doing this for her or anyone else but yourself, you won’t exactly have to worry about being too muscular for long.
Also, if you are still a kid, please realize that while you attempt to become some replica of a teenaged girls daydreams…they are growing fast and that type only stays cool as long as you look like an extra from High School Musical.
Women like money, your job, your status way more than abs.

I’m a horrifyingly bad strength athlete, and am more than happy to stay at my current size (205 or so, 5’10–and keep in mind I have girlish Asian bones). But let me give you a shrink’s perspective on this:
Your girlfriend doesn’t want you to get any bigger because she’s afraid if you look BETTER, you’ll decide she’s not good enough and leave her.
The other girls say that because they are intimidated by the fact that you are dedicated to fitness and looking good. They don’t like the idea of any guy putting that much effort into his physique because it reminds them just how skinny-fat and/or just plain fat they are, and why would a guy who actually gives a damn want to be with them.
My female friends in stable relationships usually ask me how to help their SOs look more like me.

Build the body YOU WANT. WTF.
195 is nowhere near freak status how fucking ridiculous. You’ve reached a goal- kudos to you that’s awesome… achieving physique goals takes so much effort. Now you’re assessing and want more. Why would you hold back on the basis of ANYONES opinion esp. Someone with no standing to assess a built physique. Jesus lord.
Hopefully you’re a teenager or something…
I pretty much agree with this, but part of every persons reason to build a better physique is to be more attractive to the opposite sex. No doubt he wants to look good for his girlfriend, most people do.
You personally are dieting and working towards a specific physique goal that society has defined as attractive. People on this site have complimented you a good deal, and that has got to be rewarding/motivating in some way, no? If everyone started telling you that you are looking worse and worse as you lose weight, would you want to continue to lose weight? I don;t think i would.
Again, i agree with you, he should build the physique he wants, but in my opinion, part of what he wants is being defined by others, which is only natural.
If you want to get bigger, get bigger. A lot of girls like huge guys. A lot of girls like skinny guys. A lot of girls like fat guys. A lot of people on here think that everyone wants to be huge and that every chick wants a guy that’s huge, whether they know it or not. The bottom line is do what you want with your body and there will be a population of chicks that likes your type.

OP - good try on the “I’m so Awesome” thread. You did a good job of trying to deflect attention with the “after realizing how not big that is” statement. I did the same thing by starting a I’m so hardocre thread. It works better when you don’t take it too seriously.
