Getting more regular gym session. Still nothing exciting but steady work getting my body back on track.
End of day bike ride.
We have a new climbing trail with a lot less rocks but steeper. So it make it less intense then the fire road but a bit longer in time.
We also have a new but not yet complete blue flow trail with some very cool features like rock bridge, wooden drop and some kicker rock jumps with massive burms.
We did spend some time in the jump park tonight working on our technic.
Today, I tried a Giant Trance X Advance E+. So a light emtb. It is the equivalent of my Fuel EX. I did enjoy the motor at the lowest setting. It made the climb more fun and I did many extra lap. I did not feel completely wiped out but my legs are tired. Any higher setting was a no go for me on the down hill trails or in the more tech climbing trails as the torque was making the ride unpredictable.
And most of it, I hate the bike geometry. The reach to stack ratio is not working for me. I prefer a slacker bike with a higher front. I could not jump or drop anything comfortably as I was not able to reach my arms to the handle bars with out feeling like I was going to go OTB.
Iām so glad youāre on the mend! I can relate to being the limiting factor when playing outside. I hate having to baby my body. Why canāt it just work so I can do what I want to do and no one has to stop and wait for me?
Cardio and strength does not seem to work that way. My cardio suck and always did but if I can get a little help and keep all previously injured part happy. Why not.
The BF want to chat going up and the most I can do is grunt, swear or give him the finger while trying not to die.
And I thought that an e bike was a cheat but the SL is just a little boost and I did get a solid work out when I did try one but also did more runs, so more fun.
Still doing the gym stuff but nothing very exciting, just slowly getting stronger.
Short evening ride. The park now close at 7 but it start getting dark a bit before. So, we did 2 laps. PB decided that he needed to go a bit faster. My legs are killing me and I did not even keep up with him. He notice I was not there when he could hear me grunt back at him chatting away. And because I was tired with my work day I also ride in easier gear.
So I think that I will spoil myself with a Fuel Exe 8 XT and give PB my Fuel Ex 7 gen 6
My knee is finally starting to behave and I have been able to ditch the brace for a few days. I feel the shoulder a bit more but I am able to do more stuff. I probably feel it more as the knee does not hurt so much. I can walk with out having to pay close attention to my steps.
I still do my little stuff in the gym and I do more at work too.
Tomorrow I get my new bike! Now to choose the color to go with it (grips, pedals, bottle cage and maybe handlebars). I have 2 buyer for PBās bike so that will help.
The weather is super nice for the season and we are on vacations for 2 weeks starting Saturday.
I got the bike all fine tuned and ready to rock.
It has the strangest color. It is grey but it reflex all sort of other under tone color.
I went with turquoise.
So now, I am like a kid on the last day of school before x-mas.
We did our first real ride. It was a lot more enjoyable. I still got a good work out going up but did not nearly die of 3 heart attack on the way. Just missing the propre handlebar to go with my silly T-Rex arm and it should be all good. Also this beast want to jump a bit more so I have to pull up more or we go too long and that is not fun.
I think that I have tuned the motor just right. I get a solid work out but not the about to die feeling, which is fun. I am a bit faster then PB. I could still turn down the assist. I do all the riding in the eco mode. My shoulder was feeling better but I still have the feeling when I am planted on my feet going down, that I canāt hold the grips too well.
