My getaway was amazing. I got to do a lot of exploring of a city I love and then a city I wound up in. I think this is important to note because it shows I need to leave my home town when I finish college

Notes:

  • First time really working with a coach so that should be fun
  • Hand re-check went well. Now my blood pressure post weekend of beer and nicotine was terrible but that is to be expected
  • I think the hardest part of the hand and dog stuff was it felt like I had my identity stripped away. Literally in the course of 2 days, I had to have my mom watch Lily and then not have a hand to use (plus all the shit from the antibiotics). I have Lily back and my hand is fine so I am out of that hole which feels great
  • I can make coffee again so I’m getting off the white monsters
  • Cutting back the ability to drink from once a week to once every 2 weeks

@T3hPwnisher the most underrated part of omad with protein shakes through the day is having the food crash at night. Between the heat and porkchops with rice, I was so tired after lunch

  • Finishing up the nerdy stuff, last Thursday I played my first game of DnD. I liked it. I learned my local library has adult game nights on Wednesday. I went to play MTG but then I learned they have over 400 games you can play for the night. It’s really really neat.
  • Finished the Hobbit. It’s a really great book

Nice! What did you play as? I’ve been in a running game with my buddies that are stationed all over the country. I’ve been playing a paladin in that campaign.

Also I have that LMNT hat. They sent it to me last deployment, great for keep sweat outta the eyes.

Worth noting, my hips feel amazing after the loaded carries. No idea why. Easily the best they’ve felt since my adductor thing in November

  • Rant time. This one is about generative Ai and local coaches. We have this local strongman guy who I absolutely hate. Typical dude who presents as an leader and alpha male but is cheating on his wife and trying to buy female athletes hotel rooms to “visit”. Performance wise, I heard someone describe him as “a mediocre state level athlete who took a bunch of gear to be a shit higher level athlete” which is accurate. The dude cherry picks his comps to make himself look good. For example, he puts “World Strength Games 2x champ” when this is a tiny show in Utah. He’s never been to nationals or any high level show that means something but acts like big man on campus. He posted a May 4th thing that put his clients and him as sith lords. 2, like you know the whole rule of 2, of the best parts were that there was nothing from Star Wars on it and it looked like a poster for the gay bar we go to in Nola. This dudes homophobic so I just find that so funny
