Does Body Count Matter?

No, I like using my head. I prefer to work smarter.

Good luck with that. You’re as smart as you’re ever gonna get.

Don’t need luck, I get stuff done.

Then why can’t you afford rent?

Please read this. Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy — Wait But Why

I’ve lived in China + most of my family is there. The job market there is going to shite, real estate bubble is bursting + government is starting to restrict travel. China (and most of Asia) are facin demographic crisis → little hope for continued economic growth. I really like Shanghai because my family is privileged. As a foreigner moving there, your opportunities would be living there. If you weren’t born into a great family, social mobility is low and your prospects are dim

My cousin is in England and my dad has business partners scattered across Europe. Inflation is double what it is in the US and economic growth has been negative for a long time. Taxes are much higher than even california. Their “universal healthcare” = lots of waiting for specialists → those who can afford it go private anyways. Also, wages are dismally low.

I follow Eastern Europe closely… would not recommend. Aside from the war, over 1/2 the country lives below the poverty line. Corruption there makes whatever fuckery goes on here look like child’s play. infrastructure is shite. Their best universities don’t even crack top 100 in global rankings

South america: GDP/ capita is a fraction of what it is in the US, rampant inflation+ poverty. The large cities are dangerous, education cannot compare to the US

I can afford rent. I just don’t like renting.

Yeah. Thats right. You’ve been the beneficiary of plenty already.

Hows things in, where was that? Mogadishu? Somalia?

Sometimes examples just make themselves.

Don’t even have to go that far.

the UK is commonly referred to as “poverty island” among economists

The modal STEM PhD graduate going into industry earns less than £40k PRE tax after graduation, postdocs earn even less. In the US, a PhD graduate that doesn’t do post doc can easily earn 6 figures

Dude, I want a house.

I certainly could be mistaken, but I thought he was/is Somali.

They give those things away for free in other countries so you may be on to something

  1. I am not Somali.

  2. You have serious anger issues. Go play with your cats, it’ll cheer you up.

How are houses in Somalia related to body count?

I dunno. :man_shrugging:t2: Must have him confused with some other poster.

Work. HARDER.

You haven’t paid your dues. When you do you’ll have everything you deserve.

Literal body count.

My actions already reflect this.

Please refrain from going on “attack mode” when I type out my thoughts.

Not sure this is true

Same with USSR

Ironically, I think most millennials and Gen Z are actually disenfranchised because of this exact advice.

40 years ago you could get by with a high school diploma, work in a muffler shop, and buy a house by the age of 30. The “work harder, pay your dues” stuff stopped working a long time ago.
