I moved to Arizona right around Thanksgiving and just joined Life Time Fitness in Tempe. I don’t really know anybody and would love to meet some people. Was wondering if anyone would like to meet up and workout? Girls? Guys?
Why? I prefer to not know anyone at a gym. It keeps things simple, no distractions, let’s you get your stuff done.

I wasn’t really asking for your preference I was wondering if anyone else worked out there.

I see no one fell for your creeper tactics!
have you tried walking up to someone AT your gym and SPEAKING to them ?
I hear this is a very effective way to meet people. But what do I know.
Carry on.

15/F/Toronto ^.^ what’s your favourite band?
I used to be a member to Life Time. If yours is anything like the one I went to. It was pretty much just a damn social club. Big signs on both sides of the gym saying NO CHALK in big letters and no grunting.
Was a great place to see moms flaunting their big breasts. Kids left and right hogging up machines while talking on their cell phones.
Worse of all I saw PT’s that were real overweight and out of shape training people LOL.
Machines are great though. Just to many jackasses that went there trying to look “cool” instead of actually lifting…

Yours must have sucked. I go to the one at the rim in San Antonio, TX. I think there might be one trainer that could stand to lose a little BF, but the rest are all in decent shape. I saw one trainer doing heavy rack pulls and making a crap load of noise. And another of the trainers was deadlifting and squatting properly. Still no chalk allowed, but I’ve never heard anyone make a fuss over noise or dropping a little weight now and then. The only real problem I have with them is the stupid twelve sided rubber plates, makes deadlifts difficult.
I work at one in Atlanta, and I hear people fuss at noise all the time. Mostly from deadlifts, but who cares if you hear a thud upstairs from the lap pool anyway? Rack lifts tend to be impossible as there is usually a Korean teenager curling the bar in the only spot with the pins high enough.
