You are living proof of it dude. You definitely get the Deep Water crown as well, because I haven’t sacked up enough to run it twice, haha. As for the flexing: you need to master what Jim Wendler and Kroc dubbed “Doing the Dave”. This was a reference to how Dave Tate learned how to flex as hard as possible when having his photo taken without LOOKING like he was flexing. This was a classic example

“Oh, I’m just putting on my belt. Definitely not using it to flex against”

@guineapig Thanks man. Decided a year was long enough with 1 photo. Usually I have comp photos to go with, but it’s been a bit.

  • Ppl my grandparents age were taught that the Japanese were devils who stole Chinese culture and attacked mercilessly(the second part is true)
  • Ppl my parents age still colloquially refer to the Japanese as devils and enjoy watching propaganda tv shows in which Chinese armies massacre Japanese troops; however, they also flooded Japanese universities for masters educations and now massively contribute to japans gdp via shopping and tourism
  • Ppl my age could care less about history and binge watch anime

Interesting. I’ve dabbled in some research into collectivist culture and self esteem and I guess it works if all ur people are united in thinking they are better than some other group of individuals.

I think the whole history of Middle Kingdom and son of heaven never really left
Funny story, had the Manchus not been so insistent on proving their assimilation into Han culture, China might have industrialized a lot sooner😂

I’ve no idea what ur on about but sure y not. I may be asian by background but has very little to do with who I am. If anything from a Viet perspective China is the devil

Your background is Vietnamese?

I suppose I haven’t creepily studied your face enough, was just surprised, the Vietnamese people I know have pretty distinctive features. Obviously I’m no expert, I had convinced myself you were Korean, what with those tree trunks you’re always showing us!

Let’s just all agree he’s Korean then, sure he won’t mind.

That’s just the kind of thing a Canadian would say.

But I’m not Cana…oh wait, I see what you did there. Or maybe I don’t. What did you do there?

As a volume lover and bodybuilder on the side, how do you feel about the amount of back work? It seems low compared to presses and chest work.

It feels that way - although chest really doesn’t get much work throughout the week, and between squats, deads, clean pulls, pullups, BB rows, and shrugs, my back hasn’t felt neglected. Actually, my chest is what’s felt kind of neglected this whole time, because flat bench does nothing for my chest, so all I really have is 3 sets of incline, and pushups and dips to work my chest.

Mostly though - this has been an awesome learning experience, but I’m seriously considering some bro-splitting in 4 weeks, haha. Thinking about it more as I type this, I do definitely feel like the upperback work is not really a big thing in this program, and I love me some upperback work. But I want my chest flys back too, insane pumps, etc.
