Dodgin’ Dadbods: Fortitude Training

Last meal. 2 burgers totaling .75 lbs of beef.

Done. Again, not easy. What’s leftover is my wheat buns, anywhere that I had an extra piece of bun hanging over the bun I tore the bun off. After all, the diet calls for beef and eggs, not wheat buns. I can do this, but I’m not someone who can load up every meal with extras- I’ll just get down the essentials and move on.

Swimming tomorrow for conditioning despite the fact that I spent 5 hours sweating balls and working on my fence.

You’re going to outweigh me when this is done.

Just catching up … what’s the relationship, if any, between, your pursuit of BtM and upcoming triathlon season?

I’m somewhat begrudgingly giving my up bodybuilding training in favor of strength circuits now that jiu-jitsu season is kicking in. Curious about your weightlifting/athletics balance this spring.

It’s complicated. I perform pretty well in the short triathlons I do, but stuff still hurts and while I know how to work around injuries, I’m not sure I want to just accept defeat in those areas. I also just enjoy stuff that puts me out of my comfort zone.

By the way, Alfie might be my best friend but he is an absolute pain in the fucking ass when it comes to food, and that last picture is evidence.

Conditioning Day

21-15-9 Assault bike cals and KB swings with a 50# KB
Abs, Calves, Adductors

Things hurt from all my yardwork yesterday, including my knee, so didn’t go crazy on conditioning but gassed myself and broke a nice sweat, then worked on neglected stuff with no rest in between to keep the heart rate up.

Coming up: eggs + beef 2: the return of the meat sweats

That’s Hot.

Yeah, I Squat wide stance and my adductors do most of the work, so some supplemental training with a good stretch in them really helps.

And it’s hot.

Beef, eggs, cheese, Greek yogurt, chopped cherry tomatoes, tacquiera sauce.

It took a good half an hour to get it down. My wife told me to just leave it, but I just picked til it was gone.

OMG, that looks awesome. I am struggling to summon the correct amount of sympathy.

Do you think the eating will be more challenging than the gym sessions?

There’s no need to sympathize - you’d have to empathize, and when I hear about people struggling with hunger on 2500 cals a day I can’t even pretend to care because I just do not understand what it’s like to be able to pound down food like that. I actually get nauseous after I get slightly full too. It’s been 10 years since I started stuffing myself to the point of discomfort and it’s pretty much the same. The one thing I can eat a lot of is sushi. I just can’t afford to eat it very often.

Yes. 100%, no doubt in my mind. Not even a contest there.

Funny how different people are.

Feel that man. If I was a rich guy I’d probably get mercury poisoning.

It’s 5:30 and I’m just not hungry at all yet. I did a bunch of stuff in the morning and didn’t eat til after the gym, at 1:30 PM, so the message here is clear: get at least the 6 eggs out of the way in the morning, eat .75 lbs of beef with another 6 eggs AFTER the gym, and then I can have my burgers in the evening. As it stands I’ll have to wait til like 7 to eat my 6 eggs when I’m not still feeling stuffed, and then eat again at 10 PM.

Got some nice walking in with the kids - when my son hopped off the school bus in our townhome complex I was seriously pissed off about the amount of trash that was scattered everywhere, so I hooked the boys up with plastic gloves and trash bags, and we went around the complex and when we combined all of our bags we had filled up a giant trash bag with shit just littered around the complex. People suck ass and our townhome complex, despite being in a nice location and a great neighborhood, has shitty management that never does anything.
