I took steroids from 18-20, grew up and realized that’s not what I wanted to do anymore. Overtime I’ve noticed all low T sides up to now. I am 21 and have a level of 314. I went to a TRT clinic and they told me because of my age, they needed an endocrinologist to approve it beforehand. Endocrinologist didn’t approve it, said I am too young and that my levels are low-normal (bullshit). What do you think is the best next move? I’ve seen about 4 doctors now with similar responses. Don’t know what else to do, thanks.
Could you expand in detail on your steroid cycle(s)?
Also, could you provide your most recent lab results?
Doctors are taught in medical school that TRT causes prostate cancer, so naturally young men are denied TRT for ridiculous untrue reasons. Your levels are normal, but for a 90 year old man, young men normally are on the higher end of the ranges.
You can still get TRT, just not through insurance, because insurance routinely denies medical coverage to 70% of people with chronic medical conditions as a way to save on healthcare costs and to generate more profit, you need to find an anti-aging clinic.
You should have had more testing, SHBG being the most critical, SHBG is a protein synthesized in the liver and secreted into the bloodstream where fulfills its biological function, which is the transport of sex steroids hormones.
SHBG is the balance between Total T and Free T, endocrinologists are not very knowledgeable in TRT and usually specialize in other areas of medicine. They often do not do enough testing or consider your age when assessing your levels.
When your Total T levels are low, you are in poor health, when your levels are high, you are in good health. TRT treats and prevents disease, if people aren’t sick, then all these companies lose potential future customers for prescriptions drugs and expensive surgeries.
You mention to your doctor you are depressed and can’t get an erection, he/she prescribes an antidepressant and viagra without any blood testing, you have the Test levels of an old man at 21 years old, doctor says your levels are normal.
Testosterone Threshold for Increased Cardiovascular Risk in Middle-Aged and Elderly Men
The locally weighted regression showed that total testosterone levels of 440 and 480 ng/dL were associated with increased Framingham CVD risk and an increased probability of increased hsCRP, respectively. Men with sexual dysfunction (poor sexual performance, decreased morning erection, and loss of libido) had significantly greater CVD risk.
Only cant prescribe at 21yo if you have ass cancer, but since you dont…
I believe some of the clinics do specialize or have programs for guys who used steroids and need TRT now. Something to look into, I think they’d be very understanding if you’re up front then.
