The food is not my pan of beef, but it isn’t terrible. I have known many immigrants in my town for well over a decade and have had people from every continent except Australia as guests in my home.
You’ll have to trust me when I tell you that it actually really sucks. This town used to be a great place to live. Affordable, safe and close to all kinds of great stuff and no shortage of people from all over the place around our college town with two hospitals.
Trump was completely right. Everything they touch turns to shit. (The woke).
Progressive bastions also tend to be historically insulated from border issues, so there’s an element of legitimate ignorance at play.

My hunting buddies and i drive by park ponds checking to see if any banded ducks or geese are in the area. I dont give a shit about bands but i always wondered if other hunters would head shot park ducks with a bb gun or run up and wring ones neck. If you have a license and theyre in season, its legal (in a lot of places). Now the damm Haitians are taking all the banded birds!!! Lol

I’m actually giving it serious consideration, or perhaps city council. I’d much rather advocate in support of a better candidate than I for the job.
It’s really bad. I watch a good chunk of local government and we have some nasty grifters in charge right now. Last night our school committee chair was accused, very credibly, of tax fraud. She waved a paper around that she didn’t let anyone read and then attacked the character of the private citizen who presented evidence and asked for resignation. It’s actually pretty wild stuff from an elected official.
Here’s her Maoist struggle session response to the complaint, filed by a former special ed teacher, volunteer, normal gal who isn’t a crook. We’ll see how this plays out, it is starting to get some legs it seems. If you go back earlier you can hear the public comment that it was in response to. Just listen to her speak, she’s NASTY.

The only political angle I can see would be to ensure that every Muslim in town completely understands what gender identity means in Lewiston Public Schools.
Otherwise the Democrats have purchased their voters and expanded voting to include everybody who is here. The deal is likely done and we may already be a de-facto one party state. Civic participation is a dystopian joke here. Most people in this town are some combination of drunk, high or otherwise completely disengaged from local and state politics.
Listening to the debate, Kamala is just a storyteller. Lots of people like storytellers. Maine sure did.
