Do You Have a Thing w/ DL & Squat?

Hi all.

I have a question on ‘do DL and Squat makes your body to wake up?’
In my case, they do.

Well, I been training for about 3 years on&off.
For me, whenever I get back from some period of rest(a month)my body doesn’t wake up(or feel lazy after doing one set of anything)
But, If I do ex) 70% of 1RM DLs(5*5) and squats, my body seems to come back on the track(where i use to be pumped motivated and feel strong).

Thinking for a while for this, I have come to a guessed conclusion that DL and Squat are both compound movements.
DL needs lower back, abs, arms, grips, chest, and legs
Squat needs more of legs and butt to be used little more
for the movement. I read leg exercises boost T level and maybe that affects too.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

and I will lay out my simple exercise routine if you think it has anything to to with.

day1. DL, DB bench press, pull up
day2. Squat, bent over row, DB overhead press
day3. rest
including ab exercises when ever i can and playing football(soccer) 3times a week.

Wake your body up? They require the most amount of muscles than any other exercise. So “yeah”, they probably get your blood movin.

But they are not exercises I would do first thing in the morning due to the fact fluid gets built up in your spine overnight, and putting pressure on your spine while the fluid is in there, is no good for it.

PS - DL and Squat ARE compound movments…no need to guess. I was also thinking, if you need some way to “wake your body up”, try jogging, jumping jacks, jumping rope, or ride a bike. Just do something to get your body temp up, and your muscles moving.

Deadlifts do not use the chest muscles last time I checked since it’s a pulling exercise.

You’re right that it’s hormonal. Heavy compound exercises that compress the spine literally scare the body into producing test and growth hormones. It’s a protection mechanism that we can take advantage of.
