Do You Eat Raw Eggs?

Do any of you eat raw eggs? I’ve been thinking about switching over from soft boiled eggs to raw eggs for breakfast. My only concern is about getting sick. How high is the chance of getting sick from eating raw eggs compared to boiled eggs? Is there any way to determine if an egg is bad before you eat it?

I don’t really care about the taste. Boiling the eggs and peeling off the shell takes too long. I’d just break a few into a glass and drink that.
Thanks…
Its an everyday thing for me. I make myself a killer raw egg-raw milk natural egg nog that is damn near perfect for bulking cycles with bad ass flavor. Your chance of getting sick from raw eggs is extremely small especially if you go with natural cage-free chicken eggs. I havent had one bad experience yet with raw eggs and Ive been doing it consistently for quite some time.

One of my favorite treats:
2 whole, omega-3 eggs
1 tbls. of peanut butter
Dash of cinnamon
1 scoop of Metabolic Drive vanilla or chocolate

Take a fork and mix it all together.
Add half & half or cream/water until it’s not dry anymore.
Eat with a spoon.

And Vince Gironda’s hormone precursor shake is damn good too. It’s pretty much the same thing minus the peanut butter.

I don’t. I just fry up a whole lotta eggs instead. Or boil 'em. But frying in low-fat oil = tasty. Chuck some tomato sauce, salt and pepper on it and you’re good to go.

Tomato sauce goes on anything.

I only eat raw eggs when I blend them in my weightgainer shakes/smoothies. Here is a recipe I use for breakfast most days:

Add a little water at the base to cover the blade. Then add:

3 raw eggs
1 scoop of vanilla whey
1/2 cup of oatmeal
1/2 to 1 cup of blueberries
1 banana
A big handful of walnuts.
1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Cinnamon, Vanilla extract, and nutmeg can be added to taste.

Milk, yogurt, or cream can be added but I personally avoid dairy.

I add a little bit of fructose sweetener (same as fruit but more concentrated).

Thats pretty much the only way I consume raw eggs. But I guess if you want to be hardcore like Rocky you could just put em in a glass and chug them.

I drink whole raw eggs shake at breakfast,

6 whole omega3 raw eggs
a little of heavy whipping cream
some lowcarb yagourt

I dont use a mixer, I just shake it.

Does the anabolic diet seem like its more for ecto’s? i cant see an endo benefitting from 2 full carb up days and also he talks about always staying under 10% bf. i’m sure that can be adjusted but it seems like it was originally meant for naturally lean people

After reading this thread I had to try raw eggs in a shake, the texture was great with 1 1/2 scoops Grow!, 3 raw eggs, 1t. canola oil, 1t. PB, 1c. whole milk with ice, cinnamon and splenda. Raw eggs may be a staple from here on out.

If I recall, salmonella occurs in 1/30000 eggs, so figure out how long it would take you to eat that many - 4 a day means you will probably get sick once in the next 21 years. I like those odds. However, cooked eggs have 91% bioavailability and raw eggs only have 51%. http://jn.nutrition.org/cgi/content/full/128/10/1716

3 eggs WOOOOOOOOAH! ! lol

i used to eat raw eggs like they were going out of style. 5 dozen in a day babygirl when i went through a spurt.

i hate eating them, i really do but as far as convienince they cant be beat. i mean dude one gulp, 2 eggs and you get 16 grams of protein, 120 calories. eggs, milk, and meat are the foundation of any get big diet.

i dont know what all that means. are you saying you dont get as much from raw eggs as you do cooked? i think thats true cause when i eat raw eggs i have really nasty farts and have to shit a lot more.

i drink an egg white in the morning with a shake of muscle milk, now what would be better… putting raw eggs in a blender or conutineing with the egg whites. i am currently 6`2 and weighting about 196… i have an idea of what to eat to diet and gain weight but i need someones help.

not to sure on the supplements because i took so many in the past it really fucked with my head and i lost everything i gained as soon as i stoped takin them, i currently take some medication that i dont tihnk i want to mix with the supplements anyway but im wondering if someone can help me with a work out program, wut to eat and wut supplements to use if any. i have been goin at this for quite some time and havent seent he results i was lookin for so im not doin something right, im lost and in the dark here and am lookin for advice

I eat 10 to 15 raw whole eggs every day. Don’t forget eating them with some extra fat in order to optimize the digestion. Raw egg whites leave the stomach too quickly before being fully digested. The ovomucin in the egg whites inhibits the stomach trypsin but fortunately our stomach also produces some pepsin that can inactivate the ovomucin provided that the egg whites stay long enough in the stomach, so some extra fat can help with that issue…

I also heard that beating egg whites can improve digestibility but don’t beat like a madman the yolk! that will oxidize the cholesterol. Personally I first beat the shit out of the egg whites and after I add the yolks and beat them slowly…

Sorry for my french, hope it makes sense…

Start your own thread if you have AD questions, don’t hijack.

Raw Eggs+ vanilla protein powder+lots of ice+vanilla extract=awesome protein shake with equally awesome texture.
Hey, that sounds almost exactly like mines to the tee. Except I add in some cream.

My milkshake is better than yours:

crushed ice
4 ounces raw cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp almond extract
1 scoop milk and egg protein powder
dash of stevia
3-4 whole raw eggs

Tastes like a real milkshake. Drink one of these everyday.

Raw eggs are great since you can drink it so fast and get lots of proteins (event though only 50% are absorbed), the problem though is that when you drink raw egg white, your body can’t absorb biotin, and can therefore cause biotin (Vitamin B7) deficiency, which includes symptomes like:

appetite and growth are decreased. Dermatologic symptoms include dermatitis, alopecia, and achromitrochia. Perosis (a shortening and thickening of bones) is seen in the skeleton. FLKS (fatty liver and kidney syndrome) and hepatic steatosis also can occur.

This is because of the protein avidin, which bind biotin. Avidin is inactivated when you cook it, therefore you shouldn’t eat too much raw egg whites, but the yolk can be eaten raw without any problems.

I hate eating eggs (taste and texture kills me)

So i make my morning shake with 4 raw eggs, 2 to 3 scoops protein and the rest is raw milk (whole if i am broke).

I know 19,999 people that do it. I think I will try it.

I drink 8 a day, 4 in the morning, 4 at night. I just mix a little milk in to make it more thin and easier to drink.

If your diet is composed of only raw eggs it could be an issue, but most people eat other things besides raw eggs. A bunch of people eat dozens of raw eggs everyday for years (strongmen…) without any adverse effects…

On an empty stomach, if you eat only raw egg whites without fat, fibers, only 50% of the proteins are absorbed according to an old study. Why? Because egg white contains ovomucin which is an anti-protease inhibiting the action of the trypsin (digestive enzyme) in the small intestine. But ovomucin is itself inactivated by the pepsin in the stomach.

In my opinion the issue is: the egg white because of its liquid state leaves the stomach too quickly before the pepsin has the time to fully inactivating the ovomucin. The solution? Slowing down the stomach emptying time in order to promote more complete digestion by absorbing some extra fat, fibers besides the raw eggs…

yeah, your body can absorb 50% of the protein from raw eggs, and 91% of the protein from cooked eggs. Now I guess we know where the rest of it goes
