No, I was just getting over a horrific intestinal infection (still am actually), so eating good greasy food was not really in the program for me. I had just graduated to drinking coffee that day. I am down some weight for sure, but I am of course no longer striving for the 200+ club anymore. Been there, but bad health has dealt me a rotten blow.

Derek - He’ll be applying this fall, so it’s too early to know details. The Puff’s will not be mortgaging the house or raiding retirement funds, so we shall see. He should be competitive to get into some of the Ivies, but paying for it could be the rub. I could wax on about the crazy price of college these days, but you have older kids so I know you know how it is. The federal government pouring money on education has just resulted in crazy price inflation and a huge bubble of student loan debt. And many of these expensive private schools have huge endowments, so the sticker price isn’t always the “real” cost. It’s very confusing.

I was there a few years ago in March. Those TREES. Gorgeous place. As for liberal, we’re in Cal. UC Berkeley is on his list so we’ll be lucky if he doesn’t become a pot smokin’ nudist. I’m afraid it’s hard to find a university that isn’t really skewed to the left. Maybe Stanford and BYU, also on the list. I believe we’ve narrowed it down to 10 or 12.
