I take my daily creatine with breakfast everyday, I always mix it with hot (not boiling) water so it dissolves. Recently I’ve been doing the same with the leucine as it seems to be the only way the damn stuff actually mixes.
Does the heat damage the amino acids?
Thanks in advance.
while i don’t have an answer for your question, i do have a suggestion to help the leucine go down a bit easier. put a little bit of water in your mouth, put the leucine on a spoon, pop that spoon in your mouth, and chug some water, … , profit.

haha, nice!
Hot water is not a problem.

I don’t believe it’s necessary for creatine or leucine either, however.
Why do think you need to dissolve it in hot water?
I’ve been finding if I mix my leucine with crystal light it dissolves quick. I put like a scoop or two of leuine in the water bottle then the crystal light on top and shake and it goes away after a few hard shakes. Works with cold water too.
By itself it’s pretty hard to mix in, but it mixes very well with otehr protein-containing beverages, for some reason. CHY works pretty well.

I guess it’s just a habit. I’ve always dissolved my creatine a glucosamine.
I know I dont need to but I like to, drinking powder isn’t the greatest.

Doesn’t heat denature proteins and enzymes though? Would it not effect it because its only an amino acid?
with both creatine and leucine i just fill the scoop, dump it in my mouth, and then wash it down with some water. no mixing needed. both are basicly flavorless.

Water held at below 100 degrees Celcius for a few moments before being chugged is NOWHERE near the amount of absolute heat nor time required to denature a protein or deaminate an amino acid.
if i want to dissolve it i add a teaspoon AC vinegar and it seems to help
Lol, try buying quality instantised leucine instead of using the ‘cheap’ stuff.
