Don’t know much about primal. Why can’t you just eat less carbs & zero processed foods, make life simpler? Or did you already try that?
I have not decided if I’m going to worry about dieting this year yet, think I need to focus on getting enough nutrients first, but I’ll be watching what others (like you) are doing.

Lula- because I’m not gonna claim I am something that I’m not. I like rice, potato and the occasional bread and gasp pasta! I don’t eat them everyday but everyday for the rest of my life without because supposedly our ‘ancestors,’ many years ago didn’t eat it? I dunno.
I bet if cavemans wife learned how to make some bread you can bet they would have chowed down!
Hey Kev- I think I’m mostly a side sleeper.
hmmm…I don’t like the kind of pillows the hub bought…he does though. I’ll just get my own but have been lazy.
MT- because given the option that leaves the door open to carb land. My house is pretty much void of processed foods and I make our ‘junk,’ food.(cookies, bread etc)
Having a plan with parameters forces me to stick to it. I don’t know, I’m weird.
Gym:
Lat pulldown- 5x5
push ups- 3xamrap
single leg DL(BW only…amrap before stumbling)
standing cable chest press
cable flyes
A combo move: bend over pick up dbs, curl them up, then press OH. 3xamrap
would be kinda like a clean n press??
planks- 2x as many seconds as possible ![]()
rode bike- level 13- 3 minutes(gotta keep the quads somehow…squats just plain hurt ![]()
walked- 15 minutes
so starting Monday with the induction, I’m also going to start this…

So it appears I’ve changed my mind(again) and that’s ok. I’m NOT going to be doing Atkins. F that. I lub my veggies too much and don’t want to “fail,” if I feel like having a banana or a cookie.(one that I made, tyvm!) you get the idea.
I do need a plan though…I’m thinking of setting a 50-75 gram carb limit(and lower than that for non-gym days) and having a free meal once a week.
ya, I can live with that!
I did want to try going gluten free again for awhile…but it’s so hard!! pouts One thing at a time I suppose. Clean the eats up first and worry about other stuff later. Besides, i’ve got a lot going on plus still adjusting to new meds, etc.
ok, glad I could get that out.

Sounds like a solid plan.
Make sure you leave room to adjust if needed (i.e. reduce carbs when weight loss plateaus).
Carb cycling? Or just do Primal Bluerpint and enjoy your 20%.
Sounds good, man. That’s bascially what I did.
First I started out just eating small balanced meals with healthy carbs like oatmeal or whatever.
Then i went into carb cycling
Then slowly but surely starting removing more carbs/adding more fat/meat/veg whatever.
Then one day I realized I really had no desire to eat starchy carbs at all anymore.
^I hope that happens to me!! ASAP.

I banned all talk of diets in my log. I’ll hijak yours instead. Diets are hard. I’m with you. I keep trying to improve mine (for health and performance reasons) and keep feeling like I’m failing at it. I don’t like failing. Makes it hard to start and/or keep going. I admire your tenacity. I hope you find a way of eating that helps you achieve all of your goals.

Nadia- it IS hard. Matter of fact I had a dream last night that I was consistently gaining 5lbs/week. Guess I do have a conscious for this stuff after all ![]()
Cleaning up after taste testing through the holidays has been hard… I keep thinking of everything I’ve worked so hard to at least maintain and how easy my body gains and to slip further and further away from my goal(s) would be a shame.
I’m not talking about just losing some lbs…but overall health. Looking good in shorts and tank tops helps the motivation too ![]()

i’m trying to transition to gluten free…
was doing pretty well with it but then failed once i brought a bag of flour to make brownie for christmas… but the flour is almost gone now so i’ll be back to gluten free…
a big part of the success of it for me (when i am succeeding) is replacing gluten flour with gluten free flour. so almond flour. rice flour. some combo… you can buy gluten free flours that have binding agents to make it a little more like plain flour. not the same, to be sure, but good enough to satisfy cravings for bready or caky things IMHO… if you are into baking anyway…
though i’m not sure about mentioning almond flour to a person who eats 12 almonds :-p
