Yes!
I had my appointment yesterday and got my new meds.
He is starting me at 1 grain and will test again in 6 weeks.

I have this baaaad feeling I’m going to get ā€˜stuck,’ at just 1 grain because he is a TSH worshiper. He doesn’t test FT3  In other words he is very textbook and goes by certain lab values that are useless.

But at least now I have a script for Armour and I can find an out of pocket doc who has a clue.

Or maybe I’m jumping the gun and he’ll be willing to up my dose even if I’m not feeling like my lab values say I should be feeling. :stuck_out_tongue:

I need to start taking Iron and VitD. Even HE recommended it. But he can’t prescribe it since he wasn’t the one that ordered the tests for it. And my regular doc thinks I’m ā€œfine.ā€
If you call having the levels that a 90 yr old might have normal then thats another story:eek:

I really thought I was on the road to getting better but it feels like I’m starting all over.

We’ll see! Keep digging.[/quote]

This is SUCH FUCKING GOOD NEWS!!! You’re getting 9mcg of T3 already! When you get your next bloodwork try to sneak in early, don5 take meds for 48 hours before hand (god it sucks to play these games!) And LIE YOUR ASS OFF HOW TERRIBLY TERRIBLY SHITTY YOU FEEL. Do whatever you can to con him into increasing you to two grains. That will be 18mcg T3 and should REALLY HELP! Plus like you said now you have a script yay! I predict you getting well in 2012 MILFKINS. This yo year girl yayeeeee! <3

so happy your health is finding some relief. here is indeed to a better year for you healthwise. you certainly deserve it. can’t wait for pics of your new addition!

Thanks UP! yep, just going with it…it’s amzing how QUICKLY I felt better…after all this time!

Thanks 2B!!!

Maschy!!! Thank YOU!!! jumps up and down too

Cho- me too!!! even my other noted how ā€˜chipper,’ I’ve been. He’s getting his wife back and won’t trade me in afterall!!

Hally!!The Armour wears off in about 6 hrs for me. And I start getting that foggy/tired feeling :frowning:
I think my best dose will be 2 grains. Yes it does SUCK that I have to continue to play these games. But you know, I’m tired of it…I’m NOT going to stop taking my precious energy pills
I’m going to email him after a week or so and explain that they are wearing off.I may even ask if I can go up 1/2 grain the afternoon. If he refuses to let me go UP after test time then he’s fired!!!
I’m saving my money for an out of pocket doc.

Hey Alexus!! THanks!!!

I’m starting the new year off by doing a 21 day ā€˜detox,’ by going Primal!!
You can read about it here:

Being vegan wasn’t going to work so well for me since Grains/beans and I don’t really get along that great. Vegetarian is fine but I don’t like eggs/dairy enough to eat it DAILY.
I like meat. And chicken and fish. I MOSTLY eat plants and compliment my plate with a little animal
WE only eat red meat 1-2x a week maybe. I’m really digging all the Venison that the other got to bring home from MI!!

I’m letting the meds do there thing and hopefully will adjust within a month and increase to my optimal dose.
In a month or so I will pick up things back in the gym…
In the meantime, I am paying more attention to my food(like i always have!)
Continue doing ā€˜gentle,’ things like yoga/pilates…

  • go on lots of walks(weather permitting)
-do body weight stuff(push ups.pull ups. squats)

Eventually–make it to the gym to lift heavy things at least 2-3x/week
add in bike sprints

When it gets warmer–
Go on hikes!!
Get my bike out again!! Continue walks…

If the new thyroid hormones work for me as they should, dropping these pesky 20lbs shouldn’t be a big deal by Spring at least…then I’ll work on another 10 to get hawt for the Summer :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I hope to see you as one of those MDA Friday success stories later in the year, eh? I think Primal is definitely the way to go for you. And me, actually, though I must have milk in my tea. I’m English, damn it!

Thanks!

you can have dairy though! As long as it’s the higher fat variety.

I don’t eat it everyday and I think the idea is to have it in moderation.
I love coffee -n- cream…

I doubt the cream is going to affect anything in the grand scheme. Same goes for milk in your tea. You should do the challenge with me!
It would be easy for you since you live by yourself.

Day #1 challenge was to purge all non primal foods from cupboards/fridge…not likely for me since I live with non primal people
But I have will power.

I even made our own bread(for the 1st time) yesterday…it’s quiet a process but well worth the wait!

But no more for me for the next month or so :frowning:

Hey Mimsy! I’m glad you are feeling better. That’s great to hear!

Look at that beautiful woman next to that bread…and I REALLY love bread so this is saying alot.

I think primal is very interesting and would love to read about your experiences with it.

Thanks…I really love bread too…Especially bread I made! It’s exciting to bake and have it come out awesome and tastier than anything else!

Primal is interesting. It’s a lifestyle that you can really get into and serious with. But the basis is eating as whole as possible minus grains/beans.
Ideally everything would be organic and natural as possible.

It’s good to ā€˜get back to basics.’

Food today:

coffee

venison
brussel sprouts(1 pat of butter)

trail mix

big bowl of baby carrots

chicken
spinach+butternut squash(not sure about the squash! but it was delicious)

maybe some berries and cream cheese later.

Is that bread for your carrot and wafer sandwhiches?

Four-six hours sounds exactly right for the t3 in the armour.
two grains… one am one midday should do you right!
whatever it takes… I’m hopeful you can get at least ONE increase from this doc.

Also in for pics of DEH PUPPEH!

Ok here are a few of our baby!!

.

Lewis!
Decided to go with the name he came with.

I love having a walking partner!!

we’ve already been on 2 mini walks this morning…it’s pretty cold and windy out. we both need practice walking…he’s going to be a BIIIIG boy!!

you know what else I love? Having the energy to clean my house!!! And willingly wanting to do it, lol…

I can’t sit still. It’s awesome!!

one more thing!!!

I got a call from a potential out of pocket doc and the fee is TOTALLY doable! So just in case my current doc gives me a hard time I can make an appt with her by the time my next set of tests comes around. I was told I can even email her to get an idea of how she will approach things…and YES. She does prescribe the hormones that I’m already on. So that’s good!!
