Keep on, keeping on MiMsy!

Maschy is has no skill for hiding virgins!

She making them waaaaaay too easy to find.

Maschy… you learn hide your virgins better!

My appointment was so so. He was nice enough. Sympathetic of my feeling crappy. But he believes I am “normal,” (as far as thyroid lab values go)and is encouraging me to look into other underlying issues that may be making me more symptom-y. Feritin, progesterone, cortisol and even a celiac test. Just one of em though that measures the antibody produced by the intestine. (transglutaminase) Does anyone know about that here??

The part that has me fired up is WHY why WHYYYY aren’t these Docs even WILLING to prescribe something that just MIGHT help there patient??! Just let them try it. I mean REALLY!!! I DON’t GET IT!!

tantrumtantrumtantrum

I asked him in a nice way and his response was “he doesn’t believe in it, so he doesn’t prescribe it.” Plain and simple.

He told me to pick out my top 5 worse symptoms and explore ways to fix them.

Ok, for example: 1. Hard time losing weight.

He asked how much cardio I do. I said none, lol. So I’m supposed to keep track of how many calories I burn based off of a machine. That’s his scientific solution to me losing weight. Keep track of what I’m eating and just do cardio for awhile so I “quantify it.”

2.Look into my female hormones is second. Because if something is going on there, it just might help everything else.

3.Wear a heart rate monitor to track my palpitations and possibly take a beta blocker.

4.Take sleeping pills to help me sleep???

5.Take Caffeine to keep me alert??

The Endo clinic at the hospital IS actually doing a ‘study,’ on patients using synthroid and I think switching them to a natural hormone(Armour) which in thyroid patient land is like a miracle drug!!

So I’m DEFINITELY going to be contacting this Doc to get in on that!!!

I’m kind of out of luck with Dr’s other than that. I only get ONE MORE ‘opinion,’ if I decided not to stay with this new Endo and after that I’m cut off. But all the Dr’s are the same so how can I win???!

Maybe this study thing will be good. And if they put me on this magical drug and I feel 100x better I will DEMAND to stay on it!!!

So that’s where I’m at. Turning into a caffeined cardio bunneh!!

Me too! At least that is what my doctor suggested to me

really??

That sucks :frowning:

Well that was quick. The Dr that is doing the study called me back and I am going to be a part of it!

you do a bunch of labs and answer a bunch of questions beforehand, then you take a medicine only you nor the Dr. know which one it is, for 3 months…retest/answer more questions…then you SWITCH meds for three months.restest/answer more questions…
Then I get to pick which one makes me feel better…eek!

Sorry to hear about the new lame doctor. I don’t like most doctors because they seems to want to treat the symptoms instead of treating the actual problem. That’s not the most effective way IMO but its easier than digging deeper and really figuring out what’s wrong.

Keep your head up though. I don’t think mixing in some cardio into your routine can really hurt (maybe it could make you feel more tired?) caffeine cardio bunny huh? Hahah I like it!

This Dr. has prescribed this certain med(ARMOUR) and reported that his patients felt much much better(duh)
I wonder if I can’t just skip the damn study and get him to be my Doc???

hmmmm

Fantastic news that you got on the trial. Let’s hope this sees an end to your troubles.

Me too!
He wrote me back and said that he would be HAPPY to see me!!

Not sure if he would still want me to do this study but I don’t see why. Appt is Dec 1st.

I made it my goal to being on my way to feeling “NORMAL,” by the end of the year…maybe it will happen afterall!

Me too. The idea of caffeine and cardio is not a sensible one for someone with a dodgy thyroid. More like a recipe for adrenal fatigue.

WAIT WAIT WAIT… Are you saying that you ARE GETTING A SCRIP FOR ARMOUR?

If so… this is ReALLY good news really good! Its got your T3 in there already. I mean I would want cytomel added but that can be a battle. Please clarify YES you ARE getting a scrip for Armour?

PS what a fuckface fucktard doctor labs are normal stupidfuckingcuntworthlessdoctor.

well, technically he is not “my Doctor,” yet but he’s been nice enough to answer my emails today.

All I know is that he is “going,” to be my new Doc and he prescribes Armour. I don’t know what his dosing protocol is. And now that makes me nervous because what if it’s not enough to feel better? Would he let me dose myself and raise it every 1.5 weeks??
I don’t know!

I wrote to ask. But I feel funny since I haven’t even met the guy, lol.

Oh and I did 20 minutes of yoga/pilates.

yay team.

Get him as your doctor! Trust me the fact that he scripts Armour is FANTASTIC!!!

No he will not let you dose yourself every two weeks. What I would aim for and what I think you could realistically get from him would be a dose increase every eight weeks based on your symptoms if possible or on your free t3 if he won’t go off sy,ptoms. You never know! For decades hypo was treated with armour in increasing dosage until the patient said they felt well!

Do some googling and see how much t3 is in armour I cant remember… if you can get a starting scrip with at lwast 15mcg of t3 in it (whatever amount of armour that turns out to be) you’ll be offf to a GREAT START yes even that little bit will help you feel better right off the bat.

Ah praise be all the gods & goddesses. That’s great news MiMsy!

So awesome!!! YAY!!! Let this be the beginning of great success!

And good work on the pilates and yoga - Stretch and strengthen! (said in my best Jane Fonda voice)
