Here’s one of the excerpts I am printing out for my Endo.
Sorry about the doctor situation - that sucks.
yes, it does SUCK. And it just got suckier.
The endo. finally called back and said ‘Yes, I prescribe T3 but only for select people and you are not one of them.’
she was really bitchy about it too. I asked if she would be even willing to try.
She said ‘No, based on your lab values you are just fine like I told you during your appointment.’ I wanted to smack her.
I don’t know what what to do now.
My Dr also wrote back and said I can see just one more Specialist for a second opinion. That’s it.
But they all seem to be the same… One way thinking/book smart types. Sure they are the “experts,” but that does that mean they really care?

well, hopefully maybe I gained enough in my legs to maintain now?? For life?? lol
Thanks Ct…but shhhh, you might ruin your rep around here. Don’t worry I won’t tell. [/quote]
pinky swear?
MiM, you really have a good attitude for all you’re being put through, hang in there…it’s got to pay off in time.
So glad gym time is working out some of the well deserved frustration.
Your quads are muscular, your back is wide and that waist, wow girl…awesome figure!
Thanks Mama.
I only see one solution to this problem and that’s to find a good Doc. Can’t quit now.
I’m on to a couple good leads.
And I’ve joined a couple yahoo groups related to thyroid stuffs in the area. Hoping I can pick up on some tips for finding a good, insurance approved Doc.
I got to the gym this am and did chest/back stuff
Push ups
inverted rows
3x8
Cable crossovers- 4x10
t bar rows- 4x10
Incline db…NOPE.
Dead stop rows- 3x10
‘Arnold,’ lat raises- 3x10
Rope pulls toward chest- 3x12
was gonna throw some leg crap in there but lefty(knee) is still giving me some trouble.
What happened with the incline DB presses?
I think something I did(maybe the cable cross overs) triggered the hurty spot in my shoulder…
Ah, suck. I can sympathise. There’s an article on single arm floor presses posted this week - maybe that would help.
Glad you joined some groups, it always feels good to know you are not alone, I’m sure you’ll get loads of good advice. Hope shoulder feels better.
So. I had my ortho appt this morning…what a waste of my FOOKING time. (irish accent there, if you didn’t pick up on that)
All I heard was lose more weight, blahblahblah. Take more drugs blahblahblah.
I did get out of him that I have no restrictions. If it doesn’t hurt I can do it. HELL, even if it does hurt I can do it but suffering and managing the pain is my responsibility.
Basically my condition is only going to get worse so I might as well party like a rock star NOW!!! j/k
sort of.
And this morning before I left I got a call from a health care manager lady. Apparently I’m raising my own special Hell over there, but she said that’s a good thing.
She advised that I should go straight through all the tedious crap of picking names out of air and just go to the big big Military Hospital up in Bethesda.
She said If the President had your health issues thats where he would go, lol.
If it’s good enough for the President! She’s still going to email me a whooooole list of providers and I can do my own research, etc…or just go up to the big hospital.
That’s good news!
Oh, and DO’s are real doctors, a lot of people see DO’s and assume they’re MDs. The training is only slightly different and is holistic in the sense that they’re taught to actually talk to patients and there’s more emphasis on preventative medicine.
But how can I find out if a MD is really a DO?
lol
I went out on my longest ride yet. A mostly pain free 24 minutes. It was fun!!
Also, I think I may have figured out a missing piece to losing fat puzzle. Aside from my crappy thyroid, I think I have been undereating.
I really really really REALLLY loathe counting and measuring and keeping track of cals but the last week I have. And it’s SHOCKING!!
Over the last couple years I’ve really taken to eating intuitively. Eating when I’m hungry and stopping when comfortably full.
Well, I tallied up today’s cals(even with dinner I haven’t eaten yet) and I’m @ 845.
If I add 2 tbsp of PB and cheesecake I’m gonna have later, I’ll only be up to 1300. Granted today was not a training day.
Maybe not everyday is this low.
well I could probably add 100cals for unaccounted stuff
-creamer
-ketchup
-bbq sauce
whip cream
-butter on carrots.
I’m fairly confident I eat more on gym days…(more protein more carbs)

AWESOME!!!
The whole UnderEating thing is something that most people dont think about. maybe bumping up the cals for a bit will reset things a bit and get your metabolism firing on all cylinders. hopefully! ![]()
