I’ve hit the weights pretty hard this year and feel like I should have more visible progress.

I guess it’s good that I have at least maintained. But I want more!

You have an amazing lat spread, a visible inner thigh muscle, and a hourglass figure (tiny waist :)… you look great :slight_smile:


I don’t think I can keep my quads as ā€˜thick,’ with the lack of stuff I can do…but so far I am retaining the muscle I still have.

Hopefully the biking will keep them beefy.

Arms n Abzzzz

Plank holds 3x30s(off bench)
Ball crunches- 3x20
Reverse crunches- 3x20–laying on bench, tap toes to the floor
Db side bends- 2x20

Alt hammer curls- 3x15
Kb hammer curl- 3x15
Alt bicep curl on incline- 3x15

Rope pulldown- 3x15
Oh tri ext(with rope) 3x15
Tri kickbacks

Ez bar curls- 3x10
tri dip apparatus( a machine you sit in and push handles down) 3x15…which is awesome because it allows you to use your TRICEPS and does not put strain on the shoulder.

Side bends on the back extension thing- 3x10
Cable crunches- 3x10

Hoping to be sore tomorrow! This is new…an arm/ab day…I like it! No achiness in the shoulder/elbow that I usually get from trying to hit arms after chest or shoulders.

Actually, I wanted to share what I am doing.

Since I don’t/can’t train cardio as intensely as I’d like, I am not getting that good caloric deficit that I’d like. To compensate, I am doing 2-3 ā€˜veggie fasts,’ per week.

I eat as many veggies as I can stomach + a little protein in the form of ckn/fish or whey shakes. I may experiment with a eat whatever you want day on Saturday and fast til Monday morning type thing if/when progress stalls again.

I don’t binge on my eating days and still keep food clean. It sounds whacky but it got the scale moving again…which is great for my motivation.

Just thought I’d share!

And of COURSE if it affects me negatively in any way, I will stop. This is only my first week though.

Good luck with that. Your legs look terrific, bad knees or no. I’d kill for thigh definition like that.

To get a lat spread, put your hands on your waist and spread your shoulderblades out. If you want an idea, there’s a lat spread photo or two in my hub.

Beautiful body you’ve got there, Betty! I love seeing that you are working hard despite your current temporary limitations. No wimping out, for sure.

Everyone wnats more progress than they’ve amde but you’ve had lots of things come up and still pushed through them.

Thanks fellas! Been quite the year, that’s for sure. Was hoping to end on a positive note.

I went for a quicky bike ride this morning. Weather is so nice out! I did 6 laps=1.5 miles in about 15 minutes on the highest gear.
Felt good til about 4 laps in and my knee was starting to ache. I think it’s residual pain from freakin PT on Wed. what a bummer. Bastards.

Even my hip flexors are still tight from the ITb stretch…scratches head Will bring it up with Ortho guy on Monday.

So in communicating with my Doc online I think I got it. My insurance won’t allow me to go to second and third and(so on) Dr’s. they just won’t. So basically, I’m stuck with what I got and need to work her out for what she’s worht. I’m not sure what happens if she is just absolutely unwilling to budge after I go over all my questions and literature.
Oh yes. There is a book you can get called stop the thyroid madness.
It’s written by a patient advocate and she’s been there done that. It’s full of all the exact questions and research that you can present to your Doc.
I called my endo this morning to inquire about whether or not she prescribes T3…she hasn’t called back yet.
