Yeah my legs are sore from all the diet soda I’ve been drinking.

i have a very sensitive CNS and if i EVER have anything that has aspartame in it (which from experience is like never now) i get very very bad anxiety and the worst headaches of my life.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAVE ASPARTAME IT HAPPENS. i bought some protein a while back that had aspartame in it and i took 1 serving and had bad anxiety and headaches and felt really out of it. so i didnt know what that was from so i kept taking the protein and it persisted.
well, i had bought some other protein and started taking that and everything went away. then i look at the previous bottle and said it contained aspartame. and the other was natural flavor. so i said hmm…
and i took another scoop of the aspartame sweetened protein just to see if thats what was it. and yes it was. for sure. well i through out that 5lb tub really fast. (ive tried just about any protein on the market also)
There is a small subset of the population called “Phenylketonurics” who have a legitimate medical problem with aspartame. You may want to look into this.

What is “a lot”?
A couple of years ago I went through a semi-anorexic phase where I pretty much lived on diet root beer. And yes, the aspartame really screwed me up. I was completely drained of energy and had headaches all the time.
I’ve heard that aspartame poisoning can be misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia and MS and after that experience I believe it, if someone’s downing enough.
It depends on how much you’re drinking and how sensitive you are to it. I’m not the type to be overly paranoid about what goes in my body, but yes, aspartame will have ill effects in excess. Just like anything else.
For what it’s worth, I believe you about too much aspartame making you feel extremely lethargic.
I mean aspartame ultimately breaks down into formic acid in the human body.
Aside from being the chief ingredient in red ant bites, formic acid is also extremely toxic to the human body.
It interrupts mitochondrial function which obviously impares energy production.
Thanks. The funny thing is, from what I have read it has to be exposed to temperatures above 92 degrees (I believe that was the number, anyhow it was well below body temp) to effect that breakdown. The usual advice subsequently given is, “Don’t let diet soda sit in your hot car or you’ll be drinking formaldehyde!” Well, jeez, if your body temperature averages 98 degrees, whether it sits in your hot car or not is a moot point.
Aspartame kills ants. If you don’t believe that, it’s very easy to verify on your own; just try it. Sprinkle some around an ant hill and see what happens. I didn’t believe it myself until I tried it at home.
I’m glad somebody asked this. I just realized that since I stopped drinking diet drinks, I have not suffered from DOMS at all.

I believe you’ve just solved my ant problem.
